April 17, 2025. Prize pool distribution has been revised. Previously, the prize distribution differentiated 3rd, 4th, 5th (2) and 7th (2) place prize support. In previous Beat-Tribe Cups, the event format does not distinguish 3rd from 4th (Top 4) or 5th to 8th place finishes (Top 8); therefore, EVO Japan have adjusted the prize distribution to match BT Cup format.
In the first producer letter for VF5 R.E.V.O., Aoki celebrates the one month anniversary of the game's release. The two main topics from the letter:1) Updates to the game are ongoing, please continue to provide feedback through their official Discord. 2) Details for the global Virtua Fighter Open Championship (VFOC) will be revealed soon.
Akira Zero, a longtime member of the VFDC community, has sadly passed away. Our condolences to his family and to all with whom Akira Zero has been a part of their life.
To help usher a new era of VF and also to promote fans to use the Official Virtua Fighter Discord channel, SEGA has asked several members of the community to help out.

On Friday, the Official VF Discord have summarized the Open β English and Japanese feedback from December 2024 into 3 charts: overall satisfaction of Open β, ranked matches, and room matches. Interestingly the English feedback were generally more favorable than the Japanese feedback. You can see the original charts and some excerpts of the feedback at the Official VF Discord News Section.
VFP - Virtua Fighter Prep - by WareDaKore is a browser-based app that quizzes your knowledge of in-game situations. Half of the characters are available for you to test your knowledge. Chosen 2P side character will do a move. You choose an answer (advantage, disadvantage, etc) from 1P side POV. App mostly in Japanese, but you can use browser's rough translation into your language of choice!
Over the past 5 or so days the official VF discord hosted a poll for character popularity.
