The idea of a fighting game set in the 18th century/classical periods featuring some of history's greatest fighters/most prolific figures, would you like the idea?

    What fighters should be present?

    What locations?

18th century? Well, you could always have Spinoza, Locke, Newton and Voltaire battle it out. Spinoza was chased by religion so I'm sure he knew at least kung fu to be able to survive long enough to author some important works in ethics. Why just 18th century though? I believe the theme could be widened a bit to include some additional historical figures.

I thought 18th just for the particular look, but why not have several classic period looks going on. Victorian England, renaissance Italy etc

Deadliest Warrior: Legends was pretty close to what you described, but it's not exactly a serious fighting game.

Deadlist warrior the game is good and I am in the top 16 on the leader boards or I was because I have not played it in a while and did not check the leaderboards. My favorite warrior in that game, well the spartan.

Pre-round pistol dueling would be a must. Also the ability to knock off your opponent's powdered wig.

Sounds like steampunk to me. Blazeblue already kinda does that.

Ah but if we set it in different periods of history and not just the 18th we could have several really interesting art styles going on.

Samurai Shodown was set in the 1790's. Later versions of the game had expy Andrew Jackson and Simon Bolivar. Charlotte is a reference to Rose of Versailles.
