Guys, I call upon you for a favor...

Its a rather big favor at that. I can't find the XBOX360 Street Fighter IV TE Arcade Stick anywhere. Its sold out on every website I can find, and in every store. The closest store that has it is a 5 hour drive. So what I'm asking is, if any of you know of a 360 TE stick in any stores around you I can send you the money to buy it if you can ship it to me. I will also be forever in your debt and will build a shrine in your honor. Help a brotha out.

I think you are pretty lucky you actually know of a store that has a SF4:TE stick in stock.

There are plenty of people of looking to get their hands on this stick now (myself included). Supply was very limited.

I suggest you pre-order it now and wait until the second shipment comes out which right now is dated to be in April.

 

Alternatively I'm thinking about buying a Hori EX2 and modding it myself. Essentially the same thing right? As far as button quality?

 

Ask them to hold it and get in your car. Actually, why the hell aren't you doing this already?

The store closes at 9, and I don't get off work until 5:30. So I would have to call in sick and hope to god they still have it on Tuesday when I would be able to go.

 

According to the store that have sticks near me, holding is not permitted, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for Rabbit, hence call the store to see if they have if they do bus there, car there, bike there, walk there, run there, swim there, helicopter there, skateboard there, motorcycle there, sea plane there just do something!

Well like I said before, I want to get an EX2 and mod it myself. It just feels so much better once you put your personal touch on it.

 

You can also mod a SE stick you know, I'm not sure if the EX2 is better or not though.

 

The EX2 is cheaper if I end up breaking it lol.

 

Modding your own stick might very well be the same hassle as the road trip of getting your TE stick, is it not?

 

It would be difficult to break a TE. You could run it over with a car or something I suppose. Normal usage will likely only dictate part swapping. With the TE, there is no soldering involved. Just open the stick and change the parts.

The craziest repair I needed to perform on one of my VSHGs was to splice in a new USB cable.

Make that drive, man.

The next batch of sticks available to be purchased in America is coming in April. Just today some UK retailers got a shipment of sticks and they sold out in under an hour. That shipment in April is going to sell out in no time so unless you stalk your browser's refresh button and immediately pre-order a second batch stick you're going to be left out in the cold just like this first batch.

Look at the prices on eBay and the demand for sticks overall. Amazon is completely sold out of arcade sticks, not just TE sticks, but all arcade sticks. RAP3, RAP-EX, FS3, are all going for well above retail right now. And with Happ, Sanwa, and Semitsu raising the price for their parts even custom sticks like Arcade In A Box are becoming more expensive. A TE stick at $150 is a great deal right now.

Eventually MadCatz is going to stop making TE sticks and then they are going to cost even more from people offing them on eBay. Look at the price of a new VSHG...they are three to four times retail brand new. TE at $150, get in your car, drive drive drive!

 

I found out tomorrow if I can make the drive on Tuesday or not. Cross your fingers for me.
