My Akira blog

I have been working on this a lot for the past 2 days. It's still work in progress so there will be lots of changes as time goes on. Originally I had this blog setup on MSN spaces, but I moved it to wordpress because to post comments on MSN spaces you need to be registered. I don't want to put people through the burden of having to sign up to something just to make a post. The only exception is that on Wordpress, your first post needs my approval then everything after that should post immediately. I have never used Wordpress, so this may be a feature I can turn off. If anyone is familiar with Wordpress and is willing to lend me some advice please feel free to leave me comments on the page.

Remember this is work in progress and just my thoughts. Nothing I say is a personal attack on anyone. This is just VF related. To make things fair, once I get things rolling, Opti volunteered to review me and I will make that post available for viewing in the near future. To accompany all player reviews that I do, I will try to have a match vid to go along with it. Do not worry I am very fair so they will not be matches of me just winning against everyone that I review. Enjoy and please try to post positive and constructive comments that I can use to make this grow.

thanks for the support. I will definitely try to keep it up and post vids of some of the strats I like to use. Hopefully it will be useful to players. I'll be making an update over the weekend.

LOVE the elbow ranking system. I died laughing when I saw that. I assume a 5 elbow system(I can't say that with a straight face well done.) Look foward to your future reviews of other players myself included.

I'm in that phase as you stated in your Blog.

When I first started playing I thought I was doing really well with the simple moves I could do. But as I played the game more and more, playing against higher ranks and learning more combinations, I think I'm failing to more forward anymore.

I need help but I don't think playing someone online will help me. I've been struggling to find and effective balance between blocking, evading and attacking at the same time. And some characters you fight against with Akira, seem impossible to beat due to their speed and combination at times.

I'll keep reading these blogs, just to update myself on strategies I should use some more, but I might just stop playing VF5 for a while and then go back to it, cause it's kinda playing with my mind, mainly cause I get annoyed by some of the moves people pull off that I can't seem to defend against.

I tried to take a break for that exact reason but I found myself getting PM's on xbl and I just couldn't turn them down.

 

You blog is getting more and more interesting Konjou. I really like the elbo system. With about 8 more years of pratice Ill let you put me under the microscope.

hahaha well it was not meant to detour you from what you do... it was meant more to open your mind on how to approach Quest to improve. So I was just using that as an example.

 

you ever look back as you improve and think "what a dumbass I was trying "x" tactic as much as I did there was no way that was a good idea ever"

There is not doubt in my mind that you won't improve. Like I said in my post I have played against you in DOA4 so I already know what you are capable of and that you are a very competent player. It's just a matter of time before it all happens. We will definitely play many, many more times man. See you soon!
