I love that so much of the promotional stuff for VF as of late has been using the early, blocky polygon look of VF 1. I think the textureless, simple polygons have an appeal to them same as spirtework that I wish indie devs would tap into. Spruced up a bit with better anti-aliasing and lighting systems, I think its a style that can look really good. Tobal 2 (a game made by Seichii Ishi, the animator and co-creator of VF1 alongside Suzuki) is a good example of a game in that style with high enough polish to still look good (in its own unique way).
