I have a confession to make, but I'll save it to the end of the post.

For now, I want to quickly share something I recently saw on Celory's stream, which was a pretty brutal looking wall setup starting with the Shippujin guard break. I demonstrate it here:

This works due to the chaining together of several properties:
    • Shippujin [P][+][K] breaks a high guard and gives +17 (Note: this move changes Kage's foot position)
    • [4][P][+][K] is 17f, and hence guaranteed as a follow-up
    • [4][P][+][K][P] is a Natural Combo when entered without delay (i.e. fastest timing)
    • [4][P][+][K][P] produces a sideways knock effect towards Kage's stomach, and if the opponent hits the wall it results in a Heavy Wall Stun.
    • Heavy Wall Stuns grant +23(?) advantage and Side Turns the opponent
    • [1][P][+][K] (15f) on Side Turn grants +16, allowing for another [1][P][+][K] giving +13, then [4][P][K] -- all guaranteed -- for a Wall Slump
    • Due to El Blaze's Super Light Weight status, you can re-slump him with [2][P] > [6][2][3][P][+][K] (should also work vs Eileen; against other characters, skip the re-slump step)
    • Continue with the usual wall slump combo of [4][6][K][+][G][K]![K] > [3][K][+][G] (or other)
So the key to all of this is that:
    • Kage must start with back facing the wall before the guard break; then
    • After the guard break, enter [4][P][+][K][P] without any delay.
I've always known about the stomach-facing [4][P][+][K][P] wall setup for a heavy wall stun, but always relied on my opponent not being familiar or ready to guard the low. This time, we have a guaranteed way to land it from the front. The only challenge is getting that guard break with your back facing to the wall!

    Now, for some other setups...

    Heavy Wall Stun Setups
In terms of other wall setups, the usual stuff from VF5FS still works to produce a Heavy Wall Stun. But, I'm curious to see what's new in REVO? If you have any, please share!

    Stomach-facing wall:
    • [2][K] (can be fussy with angle)
    • [4][P][+][K][P]
    • (jump descending) [P]
    • SH [K][+][G]
    Back-facing wall:
    • [2][K] (can be fussy with angle)
    • SH [2][K] (recovers Back Turned)
    • (enter JM with [4][K] hold) > BT JM [2][P]

    Heavy Wall Stun Follow-Ups
    Stomach-facing wall:
    • [4][P][K] (wall splat)

    Back-facing wall:
    • [K][P] (wall splat)

    Any:
    • [1][P][+][K] side hit combo

(sorry, have to end this post in a hurry, will come back and tidy up!)

I was today years old when I learnt that 4P+KP is a Natural Combo when entered without delay, ever since VF5FS! This means this setup from Shippujin was possible back then, and so I can't believe I've been sitting on this tech for this long!:ninja:

For the other feet positions after the first 1P+K you can do KP > wall hit > 66P+K > dragon kicks > wall ender.
It's a little bit sensible to the angle for what you can do after KP.

I don't remember if against light weights you can do K+G and then the sho.

Another option is going straight into 6K+G after the wall side hit

EDIT wrote K+G in the last option but I meant 6K+G

Forgot to add that the confession did live up to the expectations. :ROTFL:

@Myke do you know that the low hit of 4P+KP is unblockabke on ST when the high part is blocked?
Just to avoid another possible confession :ninja:

haha yes, this one I knew from the beginning and I'm sure I have plenty of highlight clips to prove it. In fact, I documented this around 10 years ago when I wrote the VF5FS Kage Start Guide:

Of course, a Knee [2_][6][K] is the optimal follow-up after the stagger for a Wall Spat. Thanks for looking out, though! :sneaky::ROTFL::ninja:

Do you have time after the knee to do a proper real splat combo with s high bound?

If so add this confession to yours.

I'll check it as soon as possible

    EDIT
I thought you meant that you could go for the one after a wall side hit after 4P+KP

Yes, after Side Turned [4][P][+][K][P] causes a wall stagger, [2_][6][K] (you can just enter [6][K] since you're already crouching) will cause a wall splat.

I think I didn't explained myself well enough.

The combos and situations I was talking about were about when you are angled less than 45° respect to the wall.

I tested if it's possible to followup with the knee after a less than 45° angled 4P+KP but it seems it's not (I know that it works while being directly in front of the wall).

    Am I missing something?

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. But yeah, I don't think a Knee would reach from that range unless the opponent was already in the corner?
