Lag is surprisingly important in most 2D fighters, but it's more towards "I missed my combo" than "I got randomly thrown" as it would be in VF....
Re: Max Combos Guide, version .99 [LONG] What about Sarah's db+K/f+K -> b,b+P,K -> db+K? Requires spot-on timing, but works on everybody up to...
Although I think TA completely rules SC, I have very low expectations for TA2. Cavedog doesn't exist anymore (TAK killed them), and since five...
From what I hear, the biggest changes for Sarah (aside from combos, which are surprisingly different) are the low flamingo starter and the new...
Well, I can't say with 100% certainty that VF4e won't be released on Gamecube, but I can say that it would be a pretty bad marketing decision...
Every 30 wins in kumite mode, you fight either Kyasao or Chibita, who are just like all the other high-level Kage and Lion AIs but are ranked High...
Hehe, a perfect computer wouldn't attack at all (what if they sidestep or reverse?) but would sit there as Aoi, sidestep -> jabbing every linear...
hmmm.... How the heck does Ron Gilbert beat Chris Taylor? Ron worked under Chris on TA, and Ron's own project (TAK) was a horrible failure. I...
Wow, I can't believe somebody hadn't posted Sarah's [1][K] -> [4][4][P][K] -> [1][K] yet. Works on everyone up to Jacky, and the last hit can be...
hmm... you're probably right, although a controller that could record a sequence of buttons should be able to do fine. Just record one perfect...
Yeah, the last time this got posted we concluded that the combo was probably done by a programmable controller, since to add a yoho after that...
hmm... last time I checked, VF had wall combos, ring outs, etc. as well. The reason we don't like DOA3 is because throws and reversals are much...
DOA has a lot more emphasis on reversals than VF, but VF has a lot more emphasis on throws. IIRC in DOA throws are basically anti-reversal moves,...
Actually, my AIs (Jacky, Aoi) hit a brick wall at Champion. At that point, they've fought enough CPUs to pick up bad habits like Aoi's hcf+P+G, no...
Hehe, I hate 6 buttons, but I can see why Capcom uses them: I saw how much damage the loss of medium attacks did to certain characters in MvC2 and...
The complaint I've heard about the X-Arcade is that it's too small, i.e. you can't reasonably fit 2 people on there like you can with a real machine.
Read the ranking FAQ... in the low (kyu) levels you can advance by fighting anybody, often extremely quickly, in the middle (dan) levels you need...
Exactly. In almost every case, shrm (which floats) is better than bodycheck (which doesn't), simply because shrm does way more damage with a combo...
Keep in mind that the bodycheck is also one of the slowest-recovering moves in the game, and is only really useful off a dodge or on a charging...
Certainly MC knee, P, b+P, u+P for Wolf does over 100, and works on practically anyone. Sarah's got some 100+ off a normal hit DC (DC, b.b+PK, DC)...
