    Regarding normal hit SDE - DbPm, after Ogi told me about you doing it I tested it myself.

    In closed stance I also got it to connect to Vanessa and Sarah (Im guessing character size is an issue here, both are tall)
    BUT
    I think SDE needs to connect on its latter hit frame, ie. you need a far hit. Doesnt seem to work so well up close. Set training mode settings to normal hit and back up up to the point where the cpu almost follows you. Then do SDE using guard so you dont get forward movement.

    Also I got 42 damage against the girls, and this was with teching off so it doesnt appear to be related to the training mode bug..

    After Jide brought this to my attention Im having difficulties trusting the training mode damage anymore.. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

    What combo's are there that do over 90 damage? I found this one, which I think is good but it's slightly difficult to pull of.

    I've only tried it against ElBlaze in practice, so i'm not sure who else it works on. It does 96 damage on a normal hit, so what other combos can I use to get over 90 damage?

    I dont think thats a real combo.. Have you tried it with recovery from falls on?

    I just quickly went through the training mode for something, Im sure there are more. I havent compiled a really big combo list yet, maybe I should. In the above combos there wasnt the teching extra damage added.

    Is it me or are certain links in combos slightly harder in VF5 than in previous games? Last night I tried the classic VF4 wall combo vs Goh:

    sgpm, (wall hit) koboku/overhead dbpm, yoho, dbc

    and got around 98 or so. My dbc probably could have been deeper but I didn't repeat it that often.

    Thing is, it seemed pretty hard to get the koboku to link after the wall hit/stagger. A lot of time the damage would reset. I had the cpu set to normal stagger. I did land the combo tho a few times tho, so does that mean it's actually guaranteed and my other attempts were just off in timing?

    I found this similar to the Goh combo f+K (MC) df, df+P whereby it seems you have to precisely link the df, df+P after the first hit to get it to combo. Off topic I know but a similar situation regarding certain links in combos.

    Yeah the combo I posted works, been using it one the CPU a lot. The opponent can recover from the beatdown at the end ( during the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ) though if thats what you mean.

    Thanks for the others you guyz i'm going to try them out now.

    LM_Akira: yeah struggling seems easier in general, you have to be sharp with any kind of stagger 'combos' now. Personally I have ditched DBC since its damage is nerfed too much, too hard coming up with good damage considering the risk. I just use Knee now, or can even use the new K if in a hurry.

    PS. for wallcombos, try wallslam your opponent from stagger, like
    SgPm (wallstagger) -> SgPm (Wallslam) -> etc. b,d/f+P will bounce or you can do something else.

    AkiraBahn- Have you tested the Yoho-Knee-DJK combo you posted, or seen it used by anyone?

    I can never get the last kick of Akira's DJK to connect. I tried it on all lightweights and in both stances for each. And I know my Knee and DJK are coming out at the earliest possible moment. Unless I have to hold F somewhere throughout the combo?

    The only way I got it to work was if the opponent was getting close to a wall(but didn't hit the wall) during the DJK part of the combo.

    And does anyone know if there's any use to the charged version of Akira's K+G,P attack? Imo it's slow as hell and really shouldn't be used anyways unless you WANT to get hit during the animation, but I can't seem to find any use of even having the charged option for this move.

    It doesn't cause a stagger like his f+P+K+G/d+P+K+G moves against blocking opponents and the only thing that seems pretty much guaranteed after it's blocked is a low kick.

    Although, after messing around a little more with the charged version of K+G,P...

    It seems to crush high and low jab attempts if the opponent tries to interrupt it right when the P is about to come out.

    Almost just kinda cancels the opponent's attempt to stop it.

    Not too sure about other moves though.

    Argh looks like youre right and I made a mistake. DJK combo doesnt seem to be real combo without a wall.

    It's cool buddy. I just wasn't sure if it only worked with walls, or if I was just doing something wrong.
