Do you still believe in VF5R for consoles?

I hope it comes out.

 

I'll be sticking with the 360 version.


I'm kind of annoyed that the community will be kind of split up over which version (360 or PS3) they will be playing.

Can't complain too much though, at least we're getting R.

VF has more of a congregation. You either believe or you don't.
The believers know its the best fighting game available. We might bitch from time to time, if a release doesn't come out fast enough, or if a release doesn't contain everything that we wanted it to. But make no mistake about Once a true VFer always a VFer. Every other fighting game is just foreplay.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

 

SF is the original fighter craze. Long as they're pumping out games it's a threat to all other gaming communities. Like I said before once SF4 drops I'm probably dropping VF for a long while until they tell us something about R. Hopefully by then I'll have figured out everything I needed to play SF4 well (doubful though)

Honestly though, I don't even care anymore, I mean of course I would like it to one day, but i'll just keep playing VF5 till the next one comes out.

Maybe I haven't been a fan of Sega/VF long enough to feel like i'm gonna be at a loss by not getting it. I mean it's not enough for me to say i'm not playing VF5 anymore cause I can't have R.

Okay, I checked out some of the wiki on SF. So now I see part of what the big deal is. How do the number of SF + MK fighters compare to the number of VF + Tekken +DOA fighters?

or are most people that Do VF also do SF and MK?

 

STHD gives me a buzz like VF does, but VF does a but more for me. Most other fighters I usually dont play w/ other people (GG, Kof, etc.), still haven't found good comp in SC, so I'm all VF.

 

So in the 2D world you wouldn't really want to utter MK and SF in the same sentence. MK is to SF what DOA is to VF.

I don't know what the numbers of SF are right now, but it spawned the whole genre so it was massive once upon a time.

 

For sure this game will come out for the consoles. Hell, if Sega released Evolution for the Playstation 2, why not. I do not mind buying the game since I am showing my support to the series.[/size]

 

i'd say the best way to match up 2d fighters with their 3d counterparts is:

Guilty Gear = VF
Street Fighter = Tekken
Mortal Kombat = DOA
King of Fighters = Soul Calibur
Melty Blood = Bloody Roar

and while there isn't much crossover between capcom players and vf, i'd imagine there's a good amount of crossover between vf players and capcom.

also, almost nobody plays mortal kombat competitively, just fyi.

Wow. I only needed to hover over that link and once I saw the path I lol'd. Now all you need to do is dig up that old exchange between myself and that prick. How embarrassing that whole situation turned out for me.

 

Sega are making good games... and cash cows to pay off the deficits. How ever, those good games don't sell, look at Shenmue compared to GTA4. Who won? Rockstar North. Why? Because more people told others of how good GTA, in general, is. Alot more than Shenmue fans.

If there's one thing Sega needs to boost sales of those good games, it's hype. Hype that can be compared to the Genesis Does days of Sonic. Or more recently, Mario and Sonic. Yes, you know the one.

That's where you come in. Tell everyone how good VF5R is going to be. Make them join that campaign. Play normal VF5 with them, if you can. Generate hype, unlike what Sega is doing now, because it's never too late. I've seen ads for Samba de Amigo and Sonic Unleashed, but have I ever seen a VF5 ad on TV? No! (As in I haven't seen it on my Free To Air Australian TV.)

And in the case VF5R, I can wait for the big surprise that is Revision C. I don't want to play VF5R now. Actually, I do want to try SF. But, personally, stuff Virtua Fighter 5 R:

BRING ON VIRTUA FIGHTER 5 F! (But just not yet)

(I would see why anyone wouldn't want to develop FT for PS2, after they did Evo. Develop a whole game, again? Oh, man! So, Skip R and develop F, which should be a bit behind the arcade version.)
