Yo, this is DancingFighterG. As long as the gameplay is pretty much the same then it's cool to possible get more players from the Xbox arena in VF. more people to play and more heads to smash. I can't see Ps3 not having patches on gameplay, accessories, etc for VF5. They will probably wait until the Xbox version comes out and then patch and make updates. Sony is coming up so I'm not worried about VF. Off topic but can you play Virtua Tennis online on the Ps3?

The "better anti-aliasing" would imply that it doesn't look the same; rather, that it looks better!

Perhaps it was just a placebo effect on me, but the screenies look great.

P.S. - No fanboyism here! The more VFers the better. I just happen to own a 360, so this news excites me.

By the time the arguing stops, VF5Evo with all of it's improvements over both the PS3 and X360 versions of VF5 will be out.

Have a DOA4 stick and it's ok, but not in the same league as Sanwa.
Haven't tried the Hori PS3 stick but it's in the same price range so I guess the stock parts used can't be too different.

So does anyone have a definite list of what the improvements are in this version?

*takes out ruler* Yup, at least an inch grown on this man's e-penis.

I guess it would be too late to actually ASK if I've played the PS3 version, which I have... for a good several hours combined. I'm sure your e-penis might have gained an extra inch if you had asked what I was comparing the screens to. No, I don't think it looks better than the game on PS3. What it looks more crisp than are other screens of VF on PS3. VF has always looked bad in screens. The anti-aliasing makes these 360 SCREENS look better. I have no clue what effect it will have on the actual game, considering the PS3 version looks completely different in motion.

You may go back to stroking your newly inflated e-penis now Shang.

Those things are under NDA until June as is normal industry practice.

Patience, go enjoy the PS3 version while waiting for them.

Summary of the improved 360 VF5 features from GamesRadar:
<ul>[*]Better Anti-Aliasing[*]No Online VS. support since VF5 requires one-sixtieth of a second precision to deliver the fastest and most balanced fighting gameplay known to man, which makes it unavailable for online gaming because of the bandwidth's limited data throughput, and packet loss.[*]Analog control - the arcade version, of course, doesn't use it, but the unresponsive Xbox 360 D-pad makes it a must. Everyone should use a real Arcade stick, though.[*]Tweaked basic modes[*]Improved A.I. to response more realistically[*]New 360 exclusive dojo mode similiar to the one in VF4[*]Improved training mode - allowing you to tweak the CPU's foot position and counter attacks, as well as what direction an opponent recovers from being knocked down - and what direction the foe tries to grab you with a throw, so you can learn how to escape from all angles.[/list]

I dont quite understand the XBOX 360 Stick discussion. It is a discussion that shouldn't be lead now, as it is much too early for that - VF5 360 isn't even close to be released yet. Of course, no one would want to play with a gamepad (neither with an XBOX nor PS3 one). The DoA4 Stick for the 360 was ok, though a bit tiny if you ask me, but isn't really available anymore. I think it is no big deal for Sega to make their already published VSHG XBOX-compatible. It's USB, and the button layout is a software-sided, driver-provided question. I see no problem there.

All x360's gamepad have digital signature in the pcb. So it's not only a software problem =)

Did you guys watch the developer interview? I was only half listening but I thought I head the developer mention that there would be some sort of online VF.tv implementation for the 360 version. I.e. matches may be broadcast live. I wasn't really listening however so I may have heard incorrectly.

Think if they designed it right, it could end up being better than online play.

If they had some kind of system where you could setup a local tournament, and fill in a basic form with your gamertag and the tags of other players etc. And once complete all the matches would be uploaded to a server.

Then maybe other players could have access to a menu that gave a list of the available tournaments to watch.

You'ld probably end up with many matches that stink, but you could have a voting system so the tournaments with the least votes would be deleted. And maybe the very best would be saved by Sega.

Would obviously need a lot of designing, but how healthy would the VF offline scene be if the really put thought into this.

If they really wanted to promote the game, they could even make the tournaments available to people that didn't own the game.

I just watched the developer interview again. They do mention VF.TV in combination with the 360 version. However, I could not make out if this would make it in the 360 version. They speak of some new form of VF.TV.

To elaborate on the possibilities, you could also keep statistics on each player, like tournaments won. Rank would have to be calculated in relation to the rank of the players you'ld beaten.

So you would build up the reputations of players, so when tournaments like Evo come around, it wouldn't be just another dude, youl'd have seen him fight so it's like, 'this guy's the top ranking Lau on the East Coast' etc...
