Bad move for Sega not to announce it anywhere... I mean Capcom and Namco are announcing games 2 years before release... Why not build some sort of hype, especially in America where most people like the game, but aren't willing to take the plunge? The game seems more accessible now, even for the "newcomers" and those returning to the game from say VF2/VF3 era.

On a sidenote, didn't Sega register a patent for Dreamcast equipment a few years back and everyone was saying Dreamcast 2 was coming out??? Wasn't that an attempt to prevent anyone from remaking the console, or was it for something else??? I was thinking this "FINAL SHOWDOWN" trademark registration was practically the same move...

maybe....just maybe, they have no intention on releasing in the US.

I'd buy that, seeing as there's so much hype and heavy advertising in Japan, but you hear crickets elsewhere.

You know they are probably waiting for version B/C to come out before they release on consoles.

atleast thats the very small optimistic side of my brain talking. The rest says they aren't announcing cause there douchebags or just not gonna release

I'm planning on giving things until the end of the year or next Feb to hear an announce

if there's no SoulCal or VF game coming out, I'm quitting console gaming and moving to PC pernamently.

I've lost my interest in 2d, and if 3d isn't getting anything good coming out, then what's the point. I don't play non-fighting games on console anyways.

I'd like to believe they do want to do more balancing before releasing a console version, I really would. I'd like to see Eileen move up to at least "A" tier. [IMG] But, it has been more than three years since VF5 was released for consoles. This is already nearly as bad as the gap between VF4 Evo and VF5. With the arcade business being such as it is, there is actually some doubt as to whether Sega will even develop VF6. If they don't release Final Showdown for consoles, who knows if/when we'll get a new VF game? And so far, Sega hasn't done anything to indicate they are even considering a console port of FS. I don't see much room for optimism here.

On the other hand, if there was another fighting game I enjoyed playing as much as VF5, I would've dropped the game a long time ago. I'm not going to ragequit if I don't get a new VF, unlike some people. I'll probably just play the game less and less as time goes on. One thing I am going to quit doing however, is giving a damn about FS. If the game comes out, great. I'm just not expecting it to happen anymore.

If they made it as balanced as it should be, then it would be no such thing as a Tier at all...right??

I mean lets say they made it as balanced as they could...a perfect balance...then wouldn't they all be top Tier??

The reason I ask is because I don't understand what people mean when they say balanced...

My definition of Balance would mean that not one fighter has a significant advantage over the other...so If that definition is correct then what would be the use of Tiers at all??

^If perfect balanced were able to exist, then yeah, they'd all be top tier, or all the same exact tier lol. So yeah your take on "Balance" (which makes perfect sense in the word) would mean tiers would be irrelevant.

The terms "balance" and "depth" are tossed around so much that they've either lost their meaning or everyone has their own thoughts attached to the word.

I feel, 'balanced' means, the game's cast is all relatively equal within reason. There will be some that are obviously a little better than others, and some that aren't quite up to snuff, but ultimately they can all compete without special rules or considerations.

Oh ok..lol..thanks for clearing that up for me...Yeah I always hear people use the term balance in all fighting games but then in the same sentence they will mention something about a Tier...so I started thinking to myself.."Am I going crazy or is there a hidden meaning somewhere"..lol

Well, there's a rumor of an announce tomorrow.

My thing is, I'm just not having fun with this stuff, and I can't stand the offline community at all. Might as well quit if I'm not having fun, and modern 2d fighters are no fun to me. (I don't like SF4, hate BB completely, and KOF is probably gonna be too broke to play)

Man there's still KoF98UM... That game is still great... Plus to my knowledge, the only real issue with KOFXIII is K', but I'm sure he's gonna get fixed. He's still beatable though.

From what I'm reading, it just sounds like you have a problem in general with it all. I'd personally suggest you just take a break from it all for awhile, and then come back with a fresh mind.

I'm not seeing the point of these "threats" I guess you could call them.

Dude, EVERYONE here wants VF5:FS as bad as any game ever. This is the absolute, number one game we want to see on console. However, even if it doesn't come, as sad as that would be, there WILL be other great, great games for console *cough* Transformers WFC *cough* so why neuter yourself and your choices for gaming because SEGA won't give you the game you want.

I guarantee you SEGA doesn't care what you decide to do, even though they truly are assholes and they're always letting us down. I just hope that we all can be measured if something bad happens because we don't deserve to have to beat ourselves up over something that they're doing -- that's their fault, not ours.

I'm very unhappy with the ups-and-downs of this whole thing myself, it's extremely aggravating because we are true, die-hard fans of VF. But quitting console gaming altogether is more akin to beating up on yourself, which is not warranted just because the decision-makers at SEGA can be real pricks.

Let's be calm and measured. I don't think anything SEGA does or doesn't do is a good enough reason for us to turn on ourselves.

    I agree...That's beautiful advice...

A fresh and open mind is needed with all things in life...video games are no different...

Also I disagree that KOF will be broken....what are you basing that assumption on??

I would also like to see VF:FS come to console..but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't...It's a great game but it's not that serious..I still have my SSF4 (and to be honest that's my favorite above all)

I can't live without street fighter...but then again there were a lot of years I did not play it at all (8 years to be exact)...lol...because I was playing other games...in fact there are some years I won't touch a fighter at all...and will only play sports...other years it's shooters...
The best way to enjoy them is to be open to different things and not stuck on one...

Open your mind...no series is guaranteed to last forever anyways...
