Well it's pretty obvious that they didn't think VF5 sold enough to justify releasing R or FS on consoles, maybe they're hoping the digital copy does better.

Double dipping always sucks, but I had plenty of microsoft points just laying around, and the game came out to 1600 points so decided what the hell might as well.

The convenience of it always being there and not having to have the disk are nice, especially if it gets scratched. Now I just have to decide who to give my physical copy to.

That's a good idea. I could get it from XBL and then just give some fucker my copy. Force him to play it.

I think the main benefit is that you can Use it without the disc, plus I needed a new copy a while back and no one stocked it. So I had to go to a second hand shop.

Although yeah, it can be had for cheap in some places...

We as a community should get online and play the game so we can introduce any possible new players to the game.

Personnaly i just think that we should all buy the game if we really want FS to come here. As well has show or motivation and interest in final showdown by asking sega to bring it here on every damn VF5 FS vid there is on youtube etc. I just came back to Vf from a long SSF IV trip but im back in force and Final showdown really does look amazing.

I looked at the number of ratings for the digital copy two nights ago and there was about 3500 ratings. Just for comparison, I look at Borderlands at it had over 1,000,000 ratings. Way bigger difference than I ever would've dared to guess.

borderlands has been out for forever, compared to the digital download VF5, so that ain't a fair comparison

Price is to high, you can pick VF5 up for less than $10 at gamestop or anywhere online.

They shoulda released VER C with online for the PSN, that woulda sold. I would have bought that right now for $50.

This is a great Idea by Sega but it was Done way too late to make a impact if this was done like 2-3 years ago with the bringing back of the fighting game hype juice palazooza I think it' have more weight/impact just waiting for a good SEGA RPG for the 360 or Shining force 3 on XBLA

What I don't get is why try to double dip on a market they already have? They should have offered this to a new market aka PS3 owners, we got stuck with an older version, without online. Now I really have no faith in a FS coming to console, SEGA just can't do anything right.

Why even bother releasing this on LIVE Marketplace, when the game is the same $19.99 brand new, in every store, and even less used. They already tapped out there 360 market and refuse to do right with PS3 owners.

    Re: VF5 On Demand.

IF possible a PS3 release with online would have been a great idea. It would have meant them redeveloping it for the PS3 and creating code to use for PSN though.

the XBL release is comparatively easy, as the game has already been developed. I think it's about making a little bit more money rather than spending money for them. A PS3 release would have been a cost that might not have seen a return.

    Re: VF5 On Demand.

I'm sure they could have done it cheaply enough, and it would have outsold this 360 version, but whatever SEGA. I highly doubt they get much coin from this, even if I had a 360, i'd buy VF5 used for $9 over this option.

Completely pointless move imo, but we'll see in a few months. If alot more people are playing this on LIVE it worked, if not it failed.

I'm really glad to hear this game finally got on demand like this. I hope Sega is using this as a gauge of market viability for VF:FS.
