    You can work out the recovery of a move from the command list data.

    Shun's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif 23f exe, 3f active and 50f total duration.

    Recovery = total - (exe + act - 1) = 50 - (23 + 3 - 1) = 25f

    The extra -1 is required because the 23rd exe frame is actually the 1st active frame.

    GG to Panther. Actually, I did learn a couple tricks... I never knew some of the low throw setups you used on me worked (although there's more damaging combos against characters as light as Aoi...). And yes, the lag did suck, maybe we'll get a less crappy rematch someday.

    That actually makes a lot of sense, thanks! So instead of just pressing on with a combo I want to do even it it gets blocked, I should make sure it 'checks' first if not I should stop the combo and be defensive, then wait and see what my opponent does, and continue from there, cool...

    Now I have to see what's guaranteed hits and what's not with Brad, or 'black book' combos as they say right? That's a daunting task...

    Yeah, you got it... and yeah, it's not easy. Many people (definitely myself included) think that good hit-checking is probably the hardest thing to do in this game. You basically have to constantly be thinking two moves ahead, and yet never input those moves until you've waited to see what your opponent is doing, and choose the best option on reaction, rather than by default. If you can manage it in a few small cases, like 6PP that I mentioned, you can open very powerful mind games quite easily... like 0-frame throw on an opponent that expects you to use that second P, and just waits to block it after they block the first attack.

    I was somewhat shocked to see EndCA playing Akira when he found me in player matches, I am still curious as to why our connection as severed only to have you fight me again how strange. Aside from that is was a good day training with Akira myself was a pain in the but especially against pai, sarah, and lei fei. It took me awhile finally get around the constant attacking they were doing and I am finally starting to understand why you guys hate pai,lei or sarah so much. The continual offense drive me nuts until I finally began to sidestep around them towards the end. I am not used to playing slower characters much even though I have little trouble getting their moves down but playing these fast characters online is something else entirely.

    Very good observation, now try swithing over to an Arcade Stick where it takes a few thousand matches get to the point where you dont have to think just respond. Go online and have some laggy MoFo low punch or just Abare you out of EVERY DAM ADVANTAGIOUS situation you have. Its one thing to learn Yuki's moves, then another just to pull them of in a fight.

    GGs to RodNutz although not for myself. Correct me if I'm wrong but that was possibly my worst online session in awhile. I don't mean to take anything away from your promoting to Assassin as congrats are in order, but, my god did I feel lousy!

    You play Lei a way I haven't seen and it was frustrating. It was different than the last time I played your Lei which then I didn't seem to have a problem with. Last night all I felt I was doing was dancing around. =P

    Have a great day Rod!

    I already had some knowledge of him before playing him PS3 so it wasn't as bad as it seemed at first. Then again seeing the continual bashing he gave me gave me a few good ideas as to what combos I should do as well.

    To SerioCat- His attacks are quick and hard hitting however the problem with him lies when he has to deal with Abare style characters. Having to depend on reversals won't work on good players and the quick stuff the faster attackers throw out makes for a real challenge defensively but it is something I took on personally because I the the kind of power he has offensively. i will look to challenge you some day soon to see just how decent I am don't expect much from me though.

    I know I do, that why I want to fight to beat myself out of being an ass. but seriously I didn't disconnect until after you did was that you, I had the same issue connecting with Llanfair earlier as well and it was me disconnecting the game right away. I host because finding the people is too hard so I become the hunted instead that tend to be quicker.

    I'll definitely say you didn't play like your normal self overall. The first time you played my Lei I had many problems approaching you. It felt like there was no way for me to get close to you without eating an attack or being at your mercy. Last night that's all I focused on while searching for an answer on how to imoblize you. If I imobilize you then I don't have to fear your tricks. Towards the end of our first match the answer hit me. You played and awesome first match, but then I put my plan into motion and I think that by game 3 it really had you thrown off. I noticed that you werent moving as much and you weren't using a lot of your advanced tricks as much, you just stay on the outside trying to accumulate drinks. It was like you were second guessing every decision you made right before you would act. Top that off with the fact that yeah I don't play Lei Fei like everyone else. My plan was to make you approach and when you did I would make you choose instead of the norm of you making me choose. I completely turned off the fear of you staying outside drinking. Of coarse I want to stop it and I had to approach sometime, but overall it was not my concern. My concern was sooner or later you will have to come get me especially if I could land a few hits at the beginning of the match. If you recall at the beginning of every match I was desperately fighting to get a lead then I would back off once I got it. Now that the lead was mines I could set the flow and control the pace. Plus I will say I was most likely geting lucky because I always seemed to make the right guess of dodging and using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or hit you with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif / /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif before you could approach. Like I have said over and over, the problem with Shun players is hit/defended they will not stop attacking. I remember there was one round where I hit you with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif like 3 times so then I figured "ok now is the time to throw"... Nope got hit by standing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif 3 counter hits and still a standing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif comes out! My statement is not an attack so don't take it as one. Everyone saids the reason WE lose to Shun is because we don't know how to handle him, well thanks to Denkai I think I can handle him fairly well now(I think). I had him help me break down many of things that he can do. There is still much more to learn and I will continue to study him in hopes of exploiting his very small list of flaws.

    Speaking of the first match - I think that's when I lost all momentum. Do you remember what happened?

    It was last round and down to the wire. I got you with the 4P+K sabaki which left you with a pixel. I then did my fun trick, 8P+K (to handstand) and you did exactly what I wanted, a rising kick. Instead of my upsidedown kick coming out I rolled away somehow. I have no idea how that happened. I was severely frustrated after that and never came back.

    Oh well, you deserved your wins!
