No one ever remembers my name correctly.

 

ggs to betabow. ur lau is on point. ur 5 or 6 game win streak ha me nervous it was gonna getreal ugly for a minute. i didnt want to quit, but i spilled coffe on myself and had to rinse out the shirt b4 it stained. but it was nice to get a 2hour set with a strong player.
ggs to ukdiddy. gave me alot 2 look ay and practice with my brand new akira. again nice 2 find good competition.

GG's to KingofCarnageVF- Always fun to do mirror matches and see how someone else utilizes the same moves you have. We had some really good matches.

ShinyBrentford- Heh, I know I was making you real mad with that shoulder throw...my bad. You have a really good Goh though, and you really started reading me a little too well after a while.

Socal Ruin- I don't think we got to play a lot of games, but I look forward to playing you some more.

VF Lion- We had a lot of back-forth matches. Pretty good Jacky, and it was good playing you

DeathSushi- Thank you so much for playing me even though I know it was kinda laggy. I hope it didn't bother you too much. You put a beating on me, but I learned a lot from it. Next time we play, I hope to give you a little bit more of a challenge.

I look forward to playing a lot more of you guys on here now that I finally have time to play again...granted my xbox doesn't break again.

 

UKDiddy - give yourself some credit! I didn't feel at all that the games were one sided, and you adapted well to the stages I had to go through. When I started running up and throwing after you would techrolled, you adapted well and started ducking. It's always a pleasure to play people that adapt and force me to do the same - I'm always up for games, hit me up next weekend (hard for us to find time to play during the week).

Thankyou, but I got to say that I am not the one with the credit for those matches, you were playing with "Alucard" our scene full dedicated gamepad user of Akira. I play with Aoi and judging by the way you play, I am way out of your league.

A couple of the matches were recorded (both your win) and will be posted in our local forum in the Dominican Republic as an example of a killer Lei.

We spend the afternoon in XBL and I can say that your matches were the best of the day. A pleasure to watch.

Another weekend has passed and another round of good games are in order:

1st) I finally reconnecting with my peeps. I played everyone in the crew, most of you for good sessions, most of you for multiple sessions (with the exception of coz).

Social ruin: you need to get in there and start doing some damage in ranked. You are good enough (despite still relearning the buttons) that you'll beat 70-80% of the players in there, quit lurking in player, player. lol.

Linz: Sorry for breaking the sessions up on you there, but it worked out well for me. Whenever you finally start to catch onto all my little tricks i'm just gonna quit, and then pick it back up 30 mins later after you've forget them. I've asked b4 but i'll ask again, any reason why you aren't doing max damage combos? And you aren't evading like u used to, you should /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Vf5395: 80% defense 10% offense 10% wtf was that, hehe. That second session was much much better, you were like your old self again, wonderful stance changes and deadly accuracy. Powerful, powerful offense. thats where its at, the difference was like night and day, and your defense was still super solid.

Cozby: Wow its been forever since i've lost to you in a ranked match. you know what, its been even longer since i've beat you. I think this was my first ranked win against you since waaaay back in the day when i stole master from you, that was before my biological brother Social Ruin was playing!!!!!!! its been that long. sorry to bounce out after one match, and i got lucky on that. you went up 2-0 and then relaxed. That said, you still the gold standard, half the tricks that have got me to master (and for the short time being, beyond) are set ups i've straight ghetto ganked from you. we need another player sessions so i can see whats happening on the cutting edge of lei fei theory, haha.

2nd) on to the rest of you guys.

Blahzie: Nice playing your jeff early in the weekend. He needs some work but props on taking him to the show and hosting up with him. But seriously, lets talk about the bradshow. That was some intense shit, back and forth all night long. I hope you don't mind me joining so much, and likewise, hope you enjoy our little rivalry as much as i do. Everytime i play you and win i think i've got you figured out, and then i come back and play you and get killed. After playing gainst you for about4 months now, i'm still scared to stand up against you. still no idea what to do, or if i should do anything. so i just lay there and eat the little kick. Can't wait to do it some more.

Deathsushi: you were destroying me with those low kicks, its almost like you are the brad equivalent of my lei-fei. props on the 8th dan with less than 400 games played. impressive.

unoriginal sin: you beat me, i hate you. lol, i'm not even sure who you used now, i just remember playing you losing and thinking, "i should send him a gg on vfdc"

everyone elso who i'm forgetting.

And lastly, in a purely self-serving move lets give ggs to....myself, muwahahaha, I was "on" this weekend.

 

SMB: Let's get some more games in - one ranked game is usually just long enough to tell me that I can learn from playing someone, but not long enough to really start adapting or altering my behaviour to benefit from their skill.

GG's to Wasted Wish, damn plumber and his daughter were killing me bro. There was one match in particular where I thought "I got this" but this 5 year old girl sat next to me and started pushing my buttons, literally, lol.
I love kids but while playing VF they can be a pain XD anyway, a lot of those rounds you just straight outplayed me and kicked the crap outta me. I started to get my momentum going but you had had enough by then, lol.
Good stuff man, your Lei is a force to be reckoned with.

GG's Brother Overfiend, glad to see you back fam! You were getting me so hard with a lot of your setups and mixups. It's always fun playing you bro, my mic broke today so we won't be able to chat for a bit but even without chopping it up it's still mad fun regardless.

GG's to my other brother from another mother, ShinobiFist. Our sessions always seem kinda short to me. Maybe it's cuz you're on so damn late XD lotta fun though, let's do it again soon when I don't have to wake up early the next day.

i swear you're like the most generous dude alive, you took like 3 hours out of your day and played me continuously even though i dont pose much of a challenge. on the other hand though, i learned a great deal from it. Call it an epiphany. And it took you switching to lei fei (who you clearly dont ever play) before i realized why you dominate my face so easily. I was in total shock as i watched you obliterate my defense using absolutely nothing but the fundamentals.
before today, i was thinking that i was in a bit of a rut, not really making the kind of improvements that i wanted to.. focusing on obscure areas of the game, rare situations, and trying to come up with new combos that werent listed in the guide areas.
thanks to you though, i now realize that all that stuff, while somewhat helpful, totally pales in comparison to the benefit i can get from improving on the basics.
it seriously took me about 2 hours to notice that you were varying your followup depending on what kind of hit you got off 2p. and that if you got a MC off 2p you would throw, and I would eat it EVERY time. Once i did though, it was like having a blindfold removed. Honestly, I didn't know people could actually DO that.

Thanks, for showing me just how vital close range combat is.

I didn't intend to play u for as long as 3 hours at first, but I found myself doing that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I'm glad that you realized why I switched to Leifei. I guess that you are ready to improve ur Lefei to the next level now. I would also advise you to try using Jacky or Lau once in a while. It should be helpful to improve the basic skills.

GGs: Tonyfam. Lol, that was a heck of a session. Some matches were close, some were blow outs, some were sad, some defied the laws of hitboxes, some countered the notion of guaranteed throws, some were truley perplexing, while others were the simplistic truth of perfection. I can see that you were distracted, in some of those matches you played like a master in some you played like a kyu, i'm guessing i know which were which. As for my up and down play, its all my own inability /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
lol, i'm going to keep getting in long players sessions with people from here until someone breaths the name "Wasted Wish" in the same breath as "best lei fei online." In truth, i'll know they are absolutely wrong, but it would still be nice to be mistaken as such.

Deathsushi: awesome matches bro, you seriously impressed me. not so much with our ingame play, which i've already hit you up with some advice on, but with your mentality/mindset for the game. I am much more impressed by the opponent that is willing to consistently lose in an effort to improve than the one who will abondon that improvement to go find someone they can consistently beat. Big Upps to worrying about skill, not rank or win%----and btw thanks for all the good games, you saved me from more kyu soup on a fine monday evenign.

Umm, anyway GG's Dennis, even though it was laggy I had a lot of fun and GG's Cozby: the future of VF.
As VF keeps attracting younger players I see how a lot of these players are going to be better overall VF players than a lot of vets who didn't get into the game until their 20's or later and/or started getting technical and truly learning the game until later on (like me).

I can see you learning all these other characters and not being timid about pitting them against other players even if it means that you won't win as well as with your best characters. I can see you learning a lot by doing this. Most players don't play to lose so the chances of them doing what you're doing now are slim to none. We all want to win, that's why we pick our main and/or other characters that we are strong with but you care more about learning than winning. I can see you play to win but if that's all you cared about you would pick Lei or one your stronger characters.

That said... you were getting me really good at first with your Eileen even though I could tell you don't have a full offensive arsenal with her yet and yet you still got me like 3 in a row.
I was still impressed and I can see something in you that I never thought I'd see: you will be one of the few players that is good with all or most of the characters before you even hit 21!
That, to me, is crazy. I mean, how strong will you be 5 years from now? If you stay on the track you're on, you are going to be a really good representative of a dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled U.S. VF player.
I may not be a good player but I can see a beast in the making when I see one.

Hey, thanks a lot SMB! It's been a really frustrating couple of days lately, trying to improve my own ability to defend and basically feeling like I'm learning how to use a block button all over again. It's been discouraging to the point that I've felt like hurling my controller across the room at supersonic speeds, and your message definitely helps lift my spirits.

Thanks a lot for the games and advice - I figure that rank and percentage will take care of themselves once I'm playing the way I want to play, and applying all of the skills that are available. Anytime you see me doing some bullshittery - call me on it, and don't hesitate to punch my head in in ranked.

GGs, and thanks a lot for kicking me around. I'll work on what we talked about and look forward to playing you more.
