hey Cozby gg, but can you please fix your lag. Everytime we play there seems to be hiccups of lag and in some ways its worse than a complete lagfest

No. I don't even know where to begin, this is wrong on sooooo many different levels. so i'll just say, no.

ggs to coz, all those throws....i'm dizzy. had no idea your shun was a wrestler. So now el blaze, wolf, and shun are the grapplers on VF5.

I haven't played him recently, but big ggs to punishingsoul. This guy absolutely never runs. Admittedly my record is pretty good vs you. I think this is because i do well against low pressure opponents and sometimes struggle against pressure, thus goh is a good matchup 4 me. Noob laus are a nail biter for me. But still, even when we were in the same ranking brackets u'd join my match over and over regardless of win or lose. Do all lei's find goh to be a comfortable match up, or is this just my playstyle. Do u use anyone else punishing. I mean i place almost no stock in the tier arguement, but go does feel hamstrung in the moves department to me, like he doesnt have a full set. Like they should have given him a super backwalk to offset it or something or maybe some extra evasive moves would be a good touch. Personally, i think he is one character who could be strengthened fairly. I always wonder what a good go player could do with lei fei or brad or eilein etc. I mean take the defensive skills and patience he forces u to learn and take up an offensive juggernaut. Anyhow. Special props to punishing soul for being one of the good guys on here. he never once sent me a bitter message. Win or lose--punishing u always handle ur interactions with class. Wish there were more players like you.

 

Give GentlemanThief a few matches and see how you feel about Goh's lack of move set. When I started playing Goh, I felt like his strings were pretty weak, since he's mainly got two-hit mid-mid strings. That doesn't make a huge difference though when you block the first and instead of the second mid you find yourself getting HCF-thrown and losing half your life.

GG's to II Howl II: For someone I thought I didn't worry about too much, you're Goh beat me down. Even if I did win a match, I pretty much had that feeling that it wasn't legit and that you'd just come back and win the next one with flying colors and that's generally what happened. They were sometimes frustrating (because I was getting beat so much), but at the same time fun matches. And speaking of beatdowns...

Trusewiseman: Wow...you didn't even really get to know me before you started raping me..j/k. But seriously, that Vanessa was brutal. It got to the point where I felt like every move I did was gonna be deflected. I mean you completely shut me down, but I had fun trying, and all those ring outs were just hillarious. Good games and thanks for playing me as much as you did.

 

its funny how i used lei now its a punching bag of sorts(guarding too much) so i decided to use akira, aoi, brad, kage, and goh (despite the fact im average or worst using them) to learn more bout how other players play and react to different characters. As for punishing soul he adapts very well against my lei using good defense, patience, and anticipating flaws in my game. keep it up ur goh is getting better /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Oh wow, thanks for these very kind words, social_ruin...I really appreciate it.

Basically, these were my initial impressions of Goh as well when I started playing him after Eileen (used to be my main). Especially compared to her combo strings and cancels, Goh may seem like he's missing a lot of moves. However, now that I've put a lot of time playing him, the thing I noticed about Goh is that he's got an answer to everything and I actually believe his move-set is just perfect; every move is useful(which is why I'm excited/ anxious to get my hands on VF5R since AM2 changed/ added several things for him).

The thing with Goh is when you begin to master and focus more on his throws (crouch and ground), his deflections and tsukami, and use his long legs effectively, he can be really brutal.

Like I said before, he's got an answer to everything. His kick Sabaki (4,6K) is very effective against Sarah/ Jacky players; his mid punch one (3 P+K) against Akira/ Kage players, his knee one (1 P+K) against Vanessa/ Brad players, and ofcourse his deflection to tsukami against punch strings (Lei-Fei, Pai, Eileen, Lau, etc.).

You can also confuse the hell out of your opponent with his p,k to back, or elbow to back then throw, p+k, and so on. His leg throw is also one of his greatest throws, imo, and catches your opponent off guard. Plus, his low kick throw counter is simply great. Oh and I have recently been using his Basara~Bikara (sp? The one where he mid punches twice then throws) more effectively and it's an excellent move to surprise your opponent with.

So yeah, once I've gotten used to Goh I believe he's well balanced and can hold his own against any opponent. I dont feel like there's anyone that's overpowered against him. He just takes more time and effort than most to handle him well.
