That's how it usually goes. I'm more likely to be reversal-happy than Yin/Yang-happy. That stance doesn't always give me a advantage, depending on how I'm fighting. Much more satisfying to me to say "Yep, I knew I got that" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I DO use Yin/Yang to mess with folks though.

 

This sounds like the same predicament I'm in from time to time. =/

Very nice pai. Ha, you won 80% of the matches but they were almost all 5 rounders. that feather is in my cap and you can't take it out. lol, i was suprised...not gonna lie. I didn't think you were any good /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif i think i played you a few games once with my lei and caught you on an off night, and since then whenever i seen you post i silently said to myself....MEDIOCRE...you sir, were very good. very nice pai. I'd like to think if we did it again i'd take a few more matches. But maybe not. lol, quit showing off, hehe. My biggest weakness with pai is at the end of close rounds, i'm super indecsivie and almost always end up losing cuz of it. i'll overcome that someday.

Holy Shit on what happened yesterday between me & Gentleman Thief!

Thief I have huge respect for your game and it was somewhat sorry to see what happened in the end. If anyone wants a good read, read on![/size]

I've was at Assassin last night joining whoever I could find and Gentleman Thief shows up with his Barbarian rank. My rank meter was about 1/3 and Thief's was about 1/4. I won the first game, then lost the next. It went back and forth for a little bit and then I started getting destroyed. I would win one and Thief would win two. Then I'd win one and Thief would win three.

Eventually he ended up demoting me to Barbarian. I actually didn't mind because now we were the same rank and it gets a little more interesting as you all know.

Well, low and behold the same kept happening. I would win and then lose a few. Thief got three wins in a row on me which put me to a demotion match the next match. (At this time I was starting to get a little annoyed that I wasn't doing better. I thought to myself damnit why am I drinking a beer. Then I figured, oh well, I'm already losing, might as well have another one... and that's where the magic DP from my Mich Golden Light came from.)

During the first match where I could have demoted to Raider, I ended up winning. Then for the first time in about half an hour I won a second match in a row. We played again. I won a third time. Now many probably know that Thief's meter is red, and his meter was close to promoting, but still red. I tried to join again and someone beat me to it. I had a cigarette and came back and graciously found you again Thief. Kudos for not giving up!! And I'm sure you figured out I won't either! =)

I ended up winning the fourth match and I guess you could call it bitter sweet. I almost didn't feel like the situation was deserved. Thief had me at probably 60/40, maybe even more, but who knows how long my new founded winning streak would have gone on. Still, if you are a little bitter Thief I totally understand. I would be bitter just at the circumstances that led up to it.

I am a firm believer of VF's ranking system. I think it's close to perfect. The reason I say close is because of situations like this one. All in all it was a crazy fun battle!!!

ehh i'm drawing a blank right now..oh yea, Jorjo! gg's bro, madd fun playing you again. Sorry if my style made it boring in anyway, I just can't toe up with you since I don't really have quick stringed moves except PP and PK lol, though you seem to be a master at the one hit at a time poke. I always wait for the second or follow up string of moves but you don't usually do em. I'm like oh he only did one punch, then I try to attack and it's too late cause i'm standing there for a slight moment blocking and I get popped lol. So I sometimes have to resort to pretending to dash all the way in then back out trying to make ya wiff. I'm sure you don't/didn't mind it though, can't expect me to just keep running into kicks and punches ay /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Still learning so i'm just trying out some different stuff. And that Jacky outfit you had dam near knocked me on the floor with laughter lol, even funnier when getting rocked by a funny looking character.

Ima throw P-NeGeo in here,(I think it was you I played) only one match but it was fun. Sorry if you were waiting for someone else, the vs screen doesn't tell me that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I guess if my rank was alot higher than 3rd Dan it wouldn't matter too much though. Again sorry if I messed up your rhythm bro. Don't want peeps getting upset at me cause i'm not telepathic lol.

Also for you and anyone else, don't take the hits at the end of a round personal, I won't stomp or pounce ya, If I do it's by accident. BUT, if your crumpled i'm probably gonna pop ya with something, I do it to everybody I play (unless i'm smoking taking drags between rounds)so don't take it personal, favorite one is winning with a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif then/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to magicly put a person in back crumpled postition, then the dblplm or dbl kick thing or whatever, it's pretty much open season after the K+G move.

GG's to Cozby last night. thanks for playing me. That was the most fun I had all night. I was falling asleep playing SC4. that game has gotten so boring it's not even funny. Sc4's live just plain sucks and I lost all motivation to kick ass. I think I will only play offline in sc4 from now on. Or at least for a little while.

 

I think the system would be 10x better if you ranked up from master just like any other rank. Thoughts?

I feel like Master to master plus ends up being a bottle neck in the ranking process. Many people due to lag, badluck, or pullers, end up being held artificially low. While many others sneak ahead and stay there b/c they simply stop playing people in thier rank, or move into player matches never to be seen again.

And thirdly, given what a monumental obstacle it can be, it becomes a situation where "certain people" cheat to rank up. There are people that i suspect get a second account upto 10th dan and then rank themselves up past master. And then through the same trick, i expect i'll soon see those same players rank up again. (raider, sentinal, whatever).

If master was a natural progression you probably wouldn't see this and if it did happen it wouldn't be quite so frustrating.

 

I can't say much about the ranking system but I think you're always gonna have folks that "cheat" the system. Butt-kickings I can deal with. Folks pulling the plug just because, I have a harder time dealing with. Once you figure out some dudes you never see them again unless it's to lag your timing/reaction to the ground -_- Funny how that works...granted, I can pretty much tell which folks (most here) could wipe the floor with me but some people I wonder about -_-

 

Its okay man it sure made up for my last lack luster performance against you and then some. I want to see more of your offensive skills next time. I was so keyed on your reversals I was determined not to be beaten by them.

Jhow- we had few close and fun fights you won as expected but I was glad it was a clean sweep like it used to be earlier when I was very rusty

Izuna Otoshi- You have one of the best vanessas I ever saw in a very long time and you did things with her I only wished I could do with my vanessa. Our mirror matches were classics though towards the end only if I could finish the 20 matches or so that went to down to the last hit in the final round. I felt as if I gave those matches away.

Cozby- Your skills with all the characters you play against me really took me off guard. I didn't know to approach all the character you used against me one after another. I really need to beef up my skill against guys like yourself. to get better overall I still need alot of work.

BlackDragon37- You may be ranked in the kyu rankings but you got me offguard with the skillfull lei fei you hitting me with. I hadn't see a really good lei fei in a long time aside from Cozby's lei fei I fought the other day. You should do just fine in the upper ranks when you get there.

KidVid711- Tight Kage and good match, I know I fought you before I just don't know when and think you were playing your Lion character.

I think i will be stuck as a mid dan ranked player forever but I don't care anymore as far as I am concerned ranking matches are my way to face decent people will or loss regardless of what my 5th dan ranking says. If didn't mention you earlier I am sorry ggs to you too, only I if could get rid of this condition I have that lets me play better against higher level players than people of my approximate ranking then I might get 6th dan back some day but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I like what you say because I do the same thing too. However with Shun the opponent usually ends up writhing on the ground rather than crumpled.

I think my biggest post-KO combo involved the wall and was like 5 or 6 hits!! =)

 

Some people just know how to work the system and others don't and the honest players that takes their lumps and never pulls will often be left behind. I would really like it if the system would for me but I am not willing pull on purpose in order to make it happen however.

 

Well Shadow, I'll see what I can do next time we face each other. Granted, I was spending most of the match try to GET in decent enough range to mount some kind of offense. I did notice we were both just picking the best shots we could take and yeah, I figured you didn't want any part of my reversal game -_-. Keep in mind that matches aren't always won pretty, pal.
