Good Games Thread

I have to agree with cozby here. this is what I was trying to tell you the other night. sometimes you just need to block. and react instead of trying to prevent everything. use your fuzzy and your "G" button. don't get to worried about getting thrown if you just stand there. if you work on it enough you will know when the throw is coming and break it, clash it, or duck it. seriously it's like a six sense. your offence is okay. but I can't see it getting better till your defence does.

Also gg's to Yosuke. you made me cry. no matter how close I get I can't beat you with my sarah. after my beat down I sat there and went over all the things I could have did and what did and didn't work. And mostly what I did wrong. But I must say that sure does feel like a hard match up for sarah. DAMN JACKY!! please give me advice how to beat you... or at least make my game better.

 

I only "abare" it after hai p, p+k which gives ADVANTAGE on guard /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Remember 466 p+k can duck under some highs at small disadvantages too.

 

Gg's to Splash Mountain - you sir have inspired me too get more creative with my character of choice. I don't know if you read this shit but bravo I haven't had a same character ass whuppin like that
since Adam Yuki. You read me like a childs book and I have no excuses. I felt confident on the pad, I was hitting combos (when
I could) but yet you still choke slammed me and buzz kicked me at
least 5 times each.

All I can say is, I stand humbled. You didn't just beat me, you beat me with style. Too bad my life doesn't allow me to play like
I used to. Not that I would have done much better, but you deserve a much stronger opponent.

 

Yo TWP where you been man? Online VF ain't been the same since you started doing life stuff...

BTW, social ruin, not to pile on as I think you have a solid Lei Fei... better than solid, in fact... but I think you're probably thinking too much. You know the character, you know the moves, you know the basics, just play.

I find that when I have the most trouble is when I'm playing against the system instead of playing against my opponent. Much like in chess, the challenge is not beating the board; you couldn't beat the board on your best day. But beating the schlub across the table from you? Not as hard as you think. XD

ggs to loismustdie. The name always cracks me up. U really kicked my ass in ranked. The one thing i never got around to mentioning as a tip was this: U like to start ur mid/long range moves at the very edge of pais range. Which means if u oppenents backs up u whiff and give free damage. If u would start those same move from a step closer then even if i back dash u still hit me. Usually pais give me a loooot of trouble with this. It was fun. Look forward to playing u some more. Hope u find room on ur friends list for me.

 

I don't know if it was me or something else but live seemed dead today oh well good games to thrfin and divine spirit all the matches were close and were seesaw battles, I couldn't beat any of you 2 time in a row if I could have I would have ranked up to 7th dan already. May be next time I play there will be more challengers. GGs to all the other people I played as well especially MarlyJay and our Vanessa mirror matches I didn't think you played her too, hopefully live won't end the match suddenly so we can enjoy the matches more the next time.

Also to social ruin just play the game the much needed improvements you need will come in due time. If you stress the stuff everyone is saying you will never get any better. This strategy helps me when I think I am overwhelmed when a really good player shows me a few things I know I need to use with my own character.

I truly enjoy playing you, the way you methodically break me down makes me look at introspectively at what i am doing and why. And half the time the answer is "I don't know why, i'm doing SOMETHING because you are not" which is preciesely why you are better than me i presume (that and b/c of being more advanced in your defense). And the fact that you use goh allows for me to do this self analysis while playing, and try to correct it. I feel i get better everytime i play you, now lets see if i can take that increased awareness back out to the public at large /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Well, you weren't ontop of your game so they weren't the greatest games /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif man do you irritate me with that 43p+k, which is good, b/c it wouldn't irritate me if it wwasn't effective. if you ever start rocking 9k+g like i do, then we won't even be able to play. i'll have a mental breakdown. For our mirror matches i would just say beware, or i should say be aware, of the situations where you serve 9k+g to me up on a platter. there are certain set ups that result in you losing 51pts of damage almost every single time. If you cut those out you will probably start owning the majority of our matches. If you did that and broke up with the girlfriend, hehe, you could probably be the best monk out there!

Its good to hear someone give props to someone for beating them without littering it with excuses and half reasons. I don't generally enjoy our interactions TWP but this was a classy post. This is what the good games thread is all about.

I really feel that I actually dropped off some I lost most of the matches that I would possibly rank up on and I was really pissed off because of it, I actually cared some and it killed me. I was winning these matches yesterday as well making me scratch my head some. I have to ease up on myself abit and hopefully I can get 7th dan one day in the not so distant future. Smokey- our pai mirror matches are always epic however you might not want to drink so much when you play me I might sneak pai's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif 2 times in a row again just like I did. It was a shame that I lost the match. I hope you really take advantage of the new things I saw you do after I showed them to you like using the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to leap over people that do recovery kicks before they stand up and the g cancels after the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and fully charged /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif I didn't see you do these moves until I did them first.

Tsua- Good matches for the most part but I am really starting develop a hatred of Jacky characters after seeing him so much lately. The fact that I snuck a win in was good for me at least. Good games too.

gg to u yesterday tsua. Make game locked up after our fight, and then xbox live wouldn't let me play for about an hour--at first i was just sure it was YOUR fault. lol. But it knocked everyone off from what i understand. I'm half glad it didn't happen during our game, and i half wish it did LOL. Gg. I too am getting to hate jacky. so put him on the pile with blaze, lion, jeff,shun, sarah, and all the other characters i sometimes hate, and re-release the game as lei fei and goh fighter 5.
