Good Games Thread

I had to make somewhat drastic changes to the way I approached some of those matches if I was going to get anything done (some of those changes resulted in some of the UGLIEST stuff I've ever done). Attacking is easy, it's a proper defensive game I'm trying to work on although you still destroyed me in some of those matches. I can still be a stubborn reversing (attempting) bastard though. I like to think I have an idea of what folks'll do next but some of YOUR fakes-outs had threw me completely off balance.

 

A long overdue Good Games to all! Wasted Wish, Social Ruin, and Rare Entity you guys have REALLY improved. (Is one of the three the same person?) I feel like I have actually gotten a little worse. Part of it is because my damn punch button fails once and awhile and I swear it messes with my head. Instead of just using it and not thinking about it, the fact that it might fail is always on my mind and screws with me.

I would have already had the Hori Arcade Pro.EX but I see they pushed back the release date. =/

I'd like to get some player matches in tonight if anyone's down. I'll be able to play around 10PM central. Hopefully I won't have had a few beers already.

 

GGs to Slide, even though it was only for a lil bit, I had so much fun seeing you getting back into some of your old flows.
Honestly, regardless of which way the matches go I know that you're the better player.
The way that you moved and baited and then struck with pinpoint accuracy in some of our rounds already lets me know. I played you offline but it was only a couple of matches but I know that you would be way deadlier than me offline.
I truly think that when you get the rust out you will be right back in your old spot of top players even if you don't take the game as seriously as you did that won't matter, your nonchalant Sarah will beat most of us while playing our hardest.
Oh and I only got to play you those 4 or 5 matches bc I was visiting Ladon for some offline VF. A female called him and I seen you get on so the timing was perfect.

GGs Ladon /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif I had never played profile vs profile offline before. It was really cool and fun, can't wait to see your decked out Blaze but having online you kinda have to force yourself to play Quest sometimes, lol.

 

A belated GG's to nn8989 (or something like that). I find Lau/Pai to be QUITE annoying to deal with so I guess it was only fair that my reversals annoyed you to some extent /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif At least I may have found some new ways of dealing with him/her.

Lol. that reads really funny in the paranthese. I'm the same person i've always been. BUt really. Wasted wish is my brother and he was my guiding influence in learning to play, but now we play very differently. And rare uses blaze so he isn't me or my brother. You haven't even really played wasted any sets (he'd told me) but you and i blew it up for a bit. And i've seen u in ranked quite a bit.

Konjou--when are we going to play. I see u asking for games and saying u want good games, and i've even sent u messges asking to play, with no response. I just want to play peeps better than me. Please, please come and destroy me ala dabadseed. Denkai u too.

GG's TO Panther NeoGeo. I mean I play aoi a little bit so I Knew what to expect COUNTERS and INASHIS. At first I was putting the smack down on you. Then like I said the COCKYNESS kicked in and I got counterd and inashied to death. I was so annoyed. I mean I most of become even more predictable. At this point I had ran out of beer(and was even more annoyed) and had to call it quits. Just like Social said I need to get more beatdowns put on me buy the elites of this site. So I can get stronger. So add me to your frinds list or somthing.

But I still figured out some points I think you might notice~

First of all, and it's also the most important thing---- Do the throw escapes at least two ways. I could tell you did the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif however, just a very very few times you did /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif which made me fell comfortable to only focus on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif~ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
And of course that could make a huge damage from Akira's easy combo~

Second, actually I don't recommend to use his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif too often, and you could see I almost never use these moves. I didn't mean to force you to drop these coz there is no rule to restrict others, but you do have to check the hit right after the first /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

Finally, I suggest you do more variety as you can. Obviously, you always do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif at the very fist round when I wake up which make me fell so good to evade your back side with no question. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Every time you evade my attack and then I always hit by your /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. I could tell that moment you didn't do throw escape and only do the command inputs. What I suggest is why don't you use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or SPod instead of your knee sometimes?? Which can make a lot of difference and cause more damage for sure~ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Of course I really admire your timing about /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbs_up.gif That's awesome bro!!! I have no idea how you catch me but you do get me on that!!!(lucky or not??) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif I fell scared and pay a lot of attention to your /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and that makes me unconfident on my steps.... that's a good way to curb your opponent!!

I barely use Akira now because of lag issue, but I really enjoy the mirror matches with you. Just remember my opinions above and next time you can easily tell which can make A LOT difference~~

Btw, invite me any time you want if you need some Akira matches, I would like to use Akira more according to good connection~

I am working to make ETEG better. I often escape /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif as it is Catherine's favorite throw direction. I could see that you were getting a lot of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and I only escaped that twice.

I use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif most often by mistake. Those should have been, at least, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. I go on autopilot often and stop thinking /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif .

I told myself "I need to mix in /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif" every time I saw you evade /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Hahahaha - hard for me to change things.

I often have difficulty seeing what is happening after I evade. I will learn to watch more.

Our connection was very good last night. I like how you backdash SPoD to beat my Rainbow Attack - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif whiffs and then I get hit. It was the same with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Very nice timing. Looks beautiful on-screen.

I will be playing offline tonight as people are coming over (too bad you live so far away). I will make sure to invite you in the future. We always have good games.

LOL thanks and ggs to you too shadowmaster. Yeah, I know my Akira is super scrubby and he will probably remain that way but I tried lol. I hate playing on player 2 side...it's sooo freakin hard for me to pull out his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif move after I connect with his TFT shoulder launch throw! That's why I just do jab x 4 and kick at the end but even that gets tricky for me. I might try picking up Aoi b/c I have a tough time fighting her grrr.

 

LOL, Jhow and i had a decent player session the night after you had your first one with him, and i did tell you about it.

ggs man, a good set. The mid kick counter of Brad's can discourage alot of my "power" game, so I started boxing. There's only like 3 moves I know from Brad that I can punish with PK, I try to spot those moves other than that it's insane how quickly Brad can take a round. Thanks for the compliments, btw I've take my game back to strictly moral and it's been for the better the rounds, just take longer for me to KO.

 

The one thing I love about aoi is that she can catch Akira's double handed power attacks and his shoulder rams too like I was doing to your Akira. I think I will stick with aoi for the time being. Anyway great games to singlefatalpoint that kage is good except for his tendency to do that annoying unblockable double foot kick. I was ducking to avoid it so much he was using that to his advantage, he even mixed it into his other moves towards the end making it even harder to predict. I still punished him for missing with it that is a plus at least and I played far better with aoi with combos and moves as well better than yesterday at least.

Great games to falkumupper in our mirror matches. It was the best pai match I had in a while and unlike what you guys said before he wasn't using bokutai as much as I would think he would he even made use of Pai's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif after every low attack to keep me from punishing his use low legsweeps and jabs etc. I was using bokutai more than him and he and I were dead even the whole way great matches.

ExvenceZeno101 your wolf is deadly especially your use of wall bounce combos. I must have reverted to how I played before playing too passive missing on obvious attack chances, I slacked off far too much against you knowing I had you beat many times. I will really have to work on that if I hope to be decent player in my own point of view. All things considered I did a great job winning many matches against his solid wolf character. I will have to work on escaping his low throws, his always get through while I more often than not escape the low throws of aoi and goh. It makes no sense to me why this happens.

My lion will be making his appearance real soon be on the look out for him. I have been working with him off and on for the last few days.

 

Finally got time to have a decent evening of playing VF5 on Live.

Nice to see how low I fall in the level of play area. But it just means I got even more reason to play now!
