A big thanks to every one i've played since the turn of the year. My game has really come along over these past couple months. Special shout out to Rory, who played a bit part in beating bad habits out of my Eileen. Thanks to you all for putting up with my general scrubbyness!!

GGS to Slide - I had a lot of fun man. It took me a few matches to start breaking some of those 270's throws because I'm not used to Vanessa's fighting in OS right from the get go. It didn't click in my head it was the forward 270 and not the back one. Any way she is coming along nicely. Once you power her up a little more just hit me up if you want to test how much she has grown. I have a lot of Vanessa experience, so I feel pretty comfortable fighting against her despite the fact that she is highly annoying... well more so in VF5 than VF4. I wish my old roommate still played. Hands down the best Vanessa player there was and was at one point the strongest player out of the NYC group... Well if R is good we may see a return from him. Oh and sorry I dropped out of our online conversation. I was trying to find my damn USB keyboard because I got tired of using that onscreen crap, but then my cell rang.

GGS to JHow77 - I see you have completely changed your style and took part of my advice from last year. Now your whole game revolves around nothing but drink management, follow by time management. Your new style has great new tricks and tends to force your opponents to become impatient. I can see the patterns, but since you are only using moves that leave Shun at pretty much no disadvantage or at a range where your opponent can't retaliation, but you can... it's highly annoying! This styles gives you all the time you need to drink manage and time manage. Since both are bad for your opponent they have no choice but to rush in handing you and easy win on a silver platter.... Next time I'll make sure it's not so easy.

GGS to Denkai - I see you are almost to Conqueror? Early congrats, I'm sure you will make it there shortly if you didn't make it there last night. I would have stayed, but you and Jhow77 were not joining anymore and I kept getting noobs. Killer Jacky as usual which I don't have an answer for... Hopefully I can find one eventually!

GGS to everyone else that I played recently.

    GGs everyone, I've been trying to play VF online more lately, but no one is ever online. ;_;

Erdaug, your approach with Vanessa interests me. I was puzzled on what to do, and when to do it, we'll play again later. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Hey Rod! I swear our games are always back and forth sessions. They are so much fun!! After you won the first four matches I was like, WTF I can't win. They I remembered that it usually goes down that way and I sucked it up to pretty much make it even for the night. I think you had one more win in the end.

Yes, I have changed my style. A lot of my drink management revolves around going into SOU drinking when I could attack. This adds for confusion and by the time the opponent realizes I didn't attack I can get another SOU drink in to BT which almost always results in me either being too far away to get hit or moves completely whiffing me. I love it!

I do have to watch it a little though. I tend sometimes to do it too much. And you're right about this new style being geared toward people eventually having to rush in on me. I tend to abuse this but I'm still trying to figure out a rock solid offense during the drinking. It's hard to master using his SOU attacks with great efficiency. My favorite is delaying the PPK string from SOU. And if the K hits it's pretty much a guaranteed float combo (I've never seen anyone shake out of it).

I'll try to be on again tonight if you're down. Thanks for the kind words. Your style too has seemed to grow more patient and deadly. I admit that I like that I'm not able to only rely on Shun's trickiness and drinking. I am forced to come back to VF techniques to win.

AND STOP TAKING MY DRINKS AWAY AT THE END OF THE ROUND!!! =P

    That's good then.
I had played him over a friend's house once, and I was using Wolf, I just kept giant swinging on every move and in nitaku I just would use 6K. I didn't know how to do anything else, but it was definitely enough, because he would just keep mashing the completion of strings and would run away backwards and constantly attacked in nitaku. Wolf is pretty scary though.

Thanks. Oh yeah we had alot of fuzzy and ETEG going on in there, except I fell for your RO TFT a number of times cause you disguise your throw intentions really well on me. Sometimes I would ETE(not G) with 4 inputs, I'm not joking.

My OS Vanessa, is going to be learned pure arcade style; No dojo, no training, just all in match figuring outs and leveling up, like my Jacky and Kage. Next time I play you though I'll just bust out with Sarah or something though to provide a better challenge. at one point in there was suprised you would continue to rematch even though my Vanessa was getting served kind of fierce in the middle there.

I was only using OS Vanessa, because I was about to take another game hiatus, but this had me back for a lil bit because I was having alot of fun.

btw it's too bad, but it seems like alot of people that are still available to play VF don't, because of the way vanilla 5 is. I guess I don't really blame them, especially with how they tasted Evo and things.

p.s. I use xbox.com to type up my messages on live.

GG's social ruin, those were some fun late night games. I enjoyed playing both your Goh and Lei Fei. Once again, sorry about the leaving after winning 2 in a row nonsense,I honesty didnt realize I was doing that, and it would most likely piss me off if someone kept doing that to me.

Glad you found new life and plan to stick around. I often want to quit myself because really deep down inside I don't like VF5's system(maybe I just don't understand it... I don't know). It's just that I have been playing VF since about the last 6 month life span of VF2, so at this point it's go VF or go nothing at all. Vanilla 5 can just be down right frustrating depending on the character you use.

You don't have to use Sarah if you don't want too. It's not so much the lack of challenge that bores me, it's the lack of using my brain. If I'm playing like a bot, not thinking just running circles around someone or doing the same thing over and over again to win it SERIOUSLY makes me ZZzzzz. I'm not kidding man I really get tired and can sometimes semi sleep at the stick. I love playing guys like you, Lucky, Kiminari, Denkai, Cozby, Glory(if he ever fucking comes back online), etc. Playing opponents like you guys forces me to not be lazy and to concentrate on mixups and actually just overall trying to get better. Your Vanessa was mixing things up pretty good and made my Kage on many occasions change up the timing of my attacks or choice of throws. As long as a person plays like that then I'm good...

Oh and by the way, I would use Xbox.com, but unfortunately I play VF on my PC monitor for now. I find it to annoying to keep switching the signal back and forth just to send messages even though it's just 2 easy pushes of the source button. I have a USB keyboard that's usually plugged up to my Xbox, but I used it to try out Playstation Home a little while back and now I can't remember where I placed it after I was done. LOL those are the breaks I guess!
