It was that Bad JHow. I knew the dude was'nt no MasaRed or you with shun but yet and still he dictated the match for me.I would see /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and my fuzzy would fail me online along with various TE's.

I played nothing but good opponents all week and My Moral play became too moral. It was to the Point i would'nt throw a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gifLike it was that bad.I need to take about 2 months off again so my mind can relapse into Savage mode.I played Gentlementhief and i was so scared to attack Goh I knew it was a wrap. The time i did let loose i'd win. everytime i take long periods off i come back Fearless so i guess i'll see you dudes 2 months from now Sorry.

Social Ruin: quite frankly, its either the brotherly bond, or the fact that I was well entrenched while u were growin up on VF5, but one of those or an amalgam of both makes it nearly impossible for ME to enjoy MYSELF when we play. sprinkle in all my other perceived annoyances and man, its a monk on monk tussle that can get me going. All that being said, ggs. Playin you makes me at times realize where i am at, how far i have to go, and the obvious dark, twisted, and disenchanting path that takes me there. Now its just discipline and how bad I want it. I'm halfway b/w investing the time and the other half to just taking a seat on the sds overfiend train, and giving it back up for a bit.

(instead i'll probably continue to play casually while my competitiveness lets me accept nothing but the pinnacle of my play, thus resulting in eminant frustration....so goes the woes of a lazy perfectionist.)

and ggs to anyone else i've played as of late.

nn89nn, or whatever. Decent shun, you are on the brink of breaking thru it would nearly seem. Just look at your offense and figure out where you can make it better. you are taking too many shortcuts. dmpk and that mule kick are great moves, but you have supplemented them in favor of an overall well rounded fighting style, and that will work well to keep you around ur current ranking, but if u delve deeper into shuns bag of tricks you will find much richer treasures. And then when you need those old standbys you will have them. (And for goodness sake, follow up the mule kick with -i think-6p+k, or its 46p+k that two handed punch that lands you 2 free drinks.)

ggs wasted. I think perhaps part of the problem is that i did "grow up" playing u, and thus u are accustomed to a 7 game win streak only being broken cause u are messing around, and thus splitting isn't too fun. Wait til the day i roll off 10 straight vs u, that will be fun. I'll do it if u stay casual. Well, i'm gf induced casualness so that will help. It sucks to know u aren't where u were 2-3 weeks ago. But count ur strengths for ur weaknesses...meaning u now have a knowledge of pai to employ against her u would never have had if u hadn't randomly ranked her to defender or whatever. You knew it was an investment with consequences when u made it, and it turned out better than perhaps u thought it would, so accept the set back on your main and know it was time well spent.
Also it would help if we ever sat down and actually played good against each other, but this playing sets of whose garbage is less garbage can get tedius.
SDS don't quit yet, i still want to play ya, even if you do use jacky. I've heard some good things about your defense, and maybe i will be strong enough for ur moral play to be where it's at. IDK, i wish i'da played u 2-3 wks ago when i was beasting, but i'd still like to mix it up before u put it to the back of the shelf.

P.S. I'm working my way back into ranked. I'm 2 wins away from defender. It's just a matter of time and avaiable 10th dans. I won't mind losing my rank bar to the peoples (i mean i'll be pissed, but i'll play when i get there), but the only thing i will forewarn is that when it gets 1 or 2 losses from demotion i'll prolly not be playing the extra strong players until after i hit back up the 10th dan scene and refill my rank. I just don't want to go back thru master to defender BS again.

ggs to kingofcarnagevf, thanks for remembering me. ggs to white_worm. why I'm i winning my shun is trash. ggs to all the great shun players out there. It seems the fear of shun is greater than the player. And wasted wish thanks for the games and advice. Like i was saying I need to win. I am a one rounder bum hoping for two. Hopefully the more great lei fei players I play the more stronger i will get. So hopefully I won't have to worry about you lei fei (with big strings and infinite possibility) playing bums. LOL. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

GGs man... I thought you were a little off when I played you in rank. I remember the last time I played you, you were WAY more aggressive than that. You style yesterday totally said "I'm unsure of myself at the moment." You hesitated to attack on many occassions, so at least I know the reason now.

Yeah no offense to VF Lion, but he is really boring. I played his Shun a while back in ranking and it's just keep away tactics from him all day followed by Shun's abusive strings. I still don't care what anyone says, but Shun is broken man. In the hands of a skilled player I guaranty they are only putting out about 20-30% of the energy you are. You are giving 150% just trying not to get hit by his infinite mix ups and at the same time praying your attack will land while he is doing his weird shenanigans of moves which has INSANE evasive properties. The worst part is nothing is counter able except for pretty much mule kick which hits most of the time anyway. I just don't see how this character can be consider balanced.... really I can't!

Well if you guys think VF Lion's Shun is bad, maybe you should try playing his Lion. It's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif --> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif ALL DAY! You might see the first move get mixed up a little with something else, but guaranteed you can count /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif at least 10 times per round... YES I SAID PER ROUND AND NOT PER MATCH!

The guy has potential, but it's almost like he is just not trying. Well enough knocking him, if he finds pleasure in playing this way then I guess that's all that really matters. I guess we just have to accept it.

Yeah Konjou im just gonna leave this game alone for a minute to clear my mind of the passive mentality. I've played it to much over the last Week for about 4 hours a day.
I got to play some of the best players in that time but now i losing my edge. I need to play a few FPS to forget VF5 lol!

    C. Panther- certainly GGS (at least on your part)

The fact that I can't safely throw mid attacks, even when it's fairly moral play, against Aoi. That just destroys my game for some reason, I can't adjust to that, it's half my game (I can try for a buffered shoulder against everyone else at least...). On top of that, Panther, you probably reverse more often than 9 out of 10 Aois I've played. You just know when to use it because it's pretty central to your style.

Then you fooled me too many time with the sweep cancel, that was shameful of me. It just comes so fast, and I assume the throw ends up 0-frame cause I'm sitting there blocking low... Aoi is a tough match-up just because her style is like the "anti-game"... I have to learn to play backwards almost.

"Something"[/size]Wretch - Your name is hard for me to remember... Pai player with a furiously offensive game and another mid-reverse master. I CANNOT shake out of some of Pai's staggers, it's amazing. I can see it coming and struggle as fast as is physically possible for me and I would still get hit! I'm hoping some of that shit is guaranteed, i.e. the cartwheel kick after that mid reverse that sends me into a DEEP stagger...

If I could just react to you charging that damn stagger kick and give you a kick of my own, I'd be doing a lot better against you. I got a few games against you and landed some knees flush to answer your offensive style, but you still edged me out pretty well. I did do better against you than last time though, so I can feel OK about that... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

You're right Gernburgs. I played 1h30 straight with Khan Rhan's Aoi yesterday and he reverses a lot too... Since I'm playing Akira with a lot of power middles there was a time where I just would not attack cause of the reversals. I had to adapt, sometimes I managed to make him whiff a reversal and launched/throwed him, but it required 100% of my (scrubby) skills and concentration.
I was fooled so many times by kick cancel too... Aoi is just a pain. I was mad at myself to fall always in the same kick cancel traps over and over again, to never guess the good throw escape direction on the ground, and to get chain reversed.
This style of play is just a kick in the balls of my Akira

I played VF Lion's Shun yesterday. It was a little annoying. Distance. Strings. DMPK. He has exploiting Shun's moves without developing skill down to a science. We fought a few times. I had a slight edge. He almost came back on me in one fight so I got in his face and never let him run away. I got an Excellent and felt like I'd figured out a good way to crush him for his lack of skills. But that was the last fight. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif He ran away after the beatdown!

VFLion shows what makes Shun really lame. He wins some with obviously no skills, but what about those moves and strings being used by someone who is actually good?

That pai ripped me to shreds as well as they negated my normal safe mids attacks that I normally use but I was able to adjust by using my other attacks high and low but she was really abusing the 1KK big time and I hate pais that do that. I rarely ever use it now and got past the point where I over used it myself. When it seemed like it was getting close this person quit. It would have been an interesting match if this person kept playing like I hoped.

Aoi is the true antidote to Goh's/Akira's mid-attack arsenal. Playing her in particular, you have to do almost everything the opposite as you would against any other character. A good Aoi player can set you up so easily by giving you situations where you would mid attack without even thinking and then they close it down right as you go for it.

Aoi has been destroying me lately and I've noticed that the better I get against everyone else, the worse I get against her. The more ingrained my habits get, the harder it is to invert them when I need to adjust.

You may even start adjusting but the amount of canceling she can do is just mind-warping. C. Panther got me to go for the sweep cancel every time, but if I don't it'll knock me down! What an evil mix-up that is. Then with the mid cancels, she can MAKE me stand up and then throw, then GROUND THROW!!! Aaaaahhhh!

I learned to buffer the shoulder against other characters that reverse a lot but the won't work against Aoi either.

Is that not some cheap shit? Seems kinda cheap when they really start whoring it out...

A belated GG's to Shadowmaster and PompreyFraz (I think I spelled it right). Just because YY's not a big part of my arsenal doesn't mean I won't use it. It was just one of those days.

I think I played that -Wretch guy. Had my mids countered and he beat me pretty good. I probably would've been able to eventually get a read on the guy if he'd stuck around long enough though. Oh well...

SDS Overfiend: I feel your pain, particually concerning Shun -_- Dude makes me feel like I'm playing Street Fighter, especially if I end up having to chase the bastard down and end up running into shit. Necro was doing that to me and Payi Kick for as long as I could remember.

Yeah its real frustration and with my Confidence being Low i am no good to VF5 right now lol!!! Good players good through like just like a game of baseball.I just need to take a break for playing so much.
Don't get it twisted i can fight a good Shun But when your playing Lames who keep joining you in rank matches doing this kinda bullshit its very frustating.

Quick question to anybody when playing online.Do you find yourself getting thrown even at full bars on a fuzzy crouch you know you crouch under but the lag make you get picked back up?

I never complained but i see now why the Japanese players are so skeptical about playing online against the Good players. VF5 a game of inches (Just like Baseball.).

I have to wonder what would happen to some folks if EVERY connection was off-line quality. I don't like having to go into what-ifs every time I win or lose. Oh yeah, and I thought FOOTBALL (American Football for the non-stateside folks here) was a game of inches :p

P.S. Boooooooo! to all the Wham! Bam! Thank You Jabroni, May I have another?-then run like a little bitch...lag abusers.

Well, I am a Shun player and even I agree that his evasive properties and all around playability definitely give him an edge. This is fortified by what we're talking about right now - Shun in the hands of a lazy or unskilled hand can still be deadly!

This is why I try to play him with flare and non-abusive ways. I think most would attest to that, at least I hope so.

I have yet to see anyone use BT with great efficiency. I try to do it all the time. Hell, the sheer fact I don't win more matches when I have 25+ drinks says I'm not only going for the guaranteed win.

Shun did need to be improved from VF4 EVO. He was really good but needed just a bit more. I know some feel like it might be too much. His added moves were great, but mixed with his evasiveness it can be a headache. Even I feel this way when I play a mirror match.

Of course, online, I don't have that extra sec to float someone's 0f throw. I also don't have that extra sec to hitcheck my moves, I ain't gonna lie though playing online has made it seem like I have forever and a day to hitcheck my moves offline.
