In reference to your question SDS, I feel like I get thrown cause of lag too, you can see you under the throw animation but the hands seem to wait for you and then grab. Another thing in the same regard is not rising quick enough for mids and getting staggered. I say to myself WTF? all the time, I did a quick c/d and got staggered when it should have worked perfectly. One way to tell that its not right is when you dodge and you still get hit, even with advantage. You can tell if your opponent is delaying the attacks but if they are not and you still get hit its my beleif that its caused by lag.

 

Perhaps that was the mind set of the pai player to not let skill foes get a good read on him so he quits before we have a chance to really get a good feel for him. I know it would have been a better set of matches if he kept on going.

Anyway early good games to erdraug you were one 2 people that give my developing lion a chance to actually learn something most of the people just played one or 2 player matches and that was it. If you see my lion played later today jump on in and play me he needs all the general online experience he can get and don't be skimpy about rematches either he really needs the experience.

 

Yeah, but then again; some folks probably don't WANT "better" matches. Then again I don't know what goes on in some folks' minds. Like the increased number of "droppers" that seem to pop up in Ranked these days.

 

Shadow don't forget that Lion is my alt and while you're picking up vanessa strats from me, i'm picking up Lion strats from you. Good use of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, i kept expecting you to go low and kept getting stagered, you should pick up the habit of following up that stagger with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif against slow strugglers like me. In fact you were very moderated with your lows, even the few sweeps you did were of the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif variety. A moral lion is refreshing but maybe you should have tried /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif on wakeup a bit more? You must have noticed that i have the bad habit of doing parrying kick after rolling. Anyway, against somebody who spaces like me i recommend using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif more often - you have advantage if blocked, float on normal hit, a deceptive foot crumple followup and if you whiff completely you can BT /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to safety. I've also seen other Lion players close the distance using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif swirlning around, bypasing linear mids but i cn't seem to pull that one. As a <u>desperate mesure</u> you could even try lion's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and have your opponent guess whether you'll do the folowup kicks or not. I know the move is generally considered stupid but against DS vanessa -14 is not that bad if you can TE -- and trust me, the string is so bufferable even I can input TE after it.

While risking to sound like i broken record, i have to repeat that, besides being the only 14 frame true low, it combos on CH with a HCR followup, which being cirular tracks ETEGs anyway for just -5 & pushback on block /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif Could be worse though, could be H*CR like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

 

Ah yeah, forgot to mention this Gernburgs (since you're currently using Goh). Something you also might want to think of doing...though it takes some foresight and plenty of risk. When you know an Aoi player's gonna go for a low sweep fake use a low throw at that particular moment. Mind you it only WORKS on the fake and not the actual sweep itself. I had it happen a few times in my past fights (not very often but still somewhat of a surprise).

against aoi u need to really focus on throws vs yin yang. It's a guessing game, but then again so is aoi going in to yin yang in the first place. But ideally, throwing at times when they may go to yy, ex right after they have certain moves blocked, will then make aoi hesitant to use yy, just as u are to attack mid vs yy. Anyhow, it is a way to even the playing feild a little. At least take them off cruise control auto-defend with yy. Then they can spin out and head collapse u and u are in a whole new world of hurt instead lol.

GGs to Panter Neogeo. LOL sorry for the scrubby Akira...man I'm soooo friggin inconsistant with him! Sometimes I can pull out his combos easy but on some days, I can't connect SH1T! Haha yeah it was funny...you kept on getting me with Rey Myst...El Blaze's overhead kick everytime. We had a lot of back and forth matches!

GGs to Slide. Damn your Vanessa...no offense bro but you love 2p too. Everytime I come in for a throw, I always get a p or a 2p in my face so I decided to 2p as well....especially useful for interrupting your attack strings. I'm sure it was frustrating but damn, it was for me too lol. Anyhow, how do you get out of that damn throw? Thanks for the tips btw.

I don't use 2P that much at all, my opponents I usually play will tell you that. Unless people think they're tight attack out of minus all day with various attacks one move can take care of.

Which meant there was no guess work, and you weren't even following your own attack strings. I did it more and more to show you that you were doing it, and getting yourself killed cause you didn't even check em.

ggs though. What I was basically saying on live was that, you have to make more varied choices, because once someone has the one move that takes out all of the guesswork you present, it's over.

 

Double post, maaaan I should've just stopped today after I played you. Too fun. Cause alot of my opponents after you were terrible to play against, no offense to them though.

You had set enjoyment precedence today, and it didn't get surpassed. at. all. No sarcasm.

Good games to all the people that gave my lion a chance to learn something especially guys like marlyjay's vanessa, boris of wale's lion, mataare and so. As I gained more insight I will get better thanks for everything and if you guys see my lion give me all you can he needs the experience.

Good games to outfoxd (el blaze) and hitmandu91 (pai) against my pai. The pai mirror matches I had against hitmandu91 lasted for at least 1 hour and it was nip and tuck the whole way. He won most of the matches but most of the matches were close overall and went a full 5 rounds.

 

Ya got me! I was just screwing around with Akira tonight. My main is Vanessa (quite a contrast from Akira). Really all I did with Akira was try to imitate things i've seen other Akira's do. I find that knowing how to play a character helps me to defend against them better.

BTW, I was REALLY REALLY REALLY trying to low reverse your /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, but it wasn't happening. Dunno why. Our connections seemed not to play well with each other today. Good games though!

Jhow, just wanted to say that i never feel like you are playing a dirty shun, sometimes the roll back keep away is frustrating, but its nothing in the realm of turtling or runaway tactics. You are not only one of the best shuns to play, but also one of the most respectable.

TFam, always have a good time man. You told me you were doing dmpk to get me outta stances b/c u don't have an unsabakiable move..i didn't notice at all that you did it more than was justified.

A touch of advice for the lei sabaki game: #1, he can't defend while in stances, i know ou already know this.

#2) treat every different lei as his own entity (too many people play lei like he is going to sabaki everything b/c sum beast did that too them). this combines with #3

#3) Treat every lei as a new day. Just b/c a good lei fei sabaki'd everything last time, play him like he didn't. Only adjust your game if you start getting reversed int that session. I find brad the most dangerous when he comes at me like an avalanche, consequently thats when he's hardest to sabaki. I think you were giving me too much credit and avoiding being reversed before you ever explored if i was ACTUALLY CAPABLE OF REVERSING YOU TONIGHT. Sometimes lei's timing is off, or reflexes are dulled, or he is just confused. Make him PROVE he is onto u before you castrate your game to keep him from countering.

And of course, watch the distance on knockdowns a little better. 60% of the time you stood an inch inside my range and let me sweep you.

If i may comment, IMHO low punching with OS vanessa is fair game since she has few magic moves and her evade p+k is finicky. Still, low punching against akira is dangerous, even on advantage, shoulder ram will still beat it. I personally find /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif a safer bet, sometimes going for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif if i think my opponent will abare with a high punch instead of a low, or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif if i'm feeling really lucky. Of course in laggy environments all of this is moot.
