I just can't help myself to do some specific moves because Shun has a lot of 4 cancel stuff and I can't get on the right timing....I still have a LOT of work need to do about him~~

Well, hopping will do it but it's not instantaneous because the game needs to wait until you're actually off the ground (not sure how many frames that is - does anyone know?). I actually do this, sometimes a lot, because getting knocked down is better than being flowcharted! Also a bonus is that damage received is 50% when you're in the air.

One of the main times I do this is when it's too late or I'm too lazy to guess if my opponent will do a high or low rising attack. Plus Shun's wake up game is just so damn good, and fun! If the opponent does a high attack you get hit and it's not a big deal. If they do a low attack you get to jump kick them and usually get /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. [notice that yes, I did use the hold method for down/forward since the opponent would be in the air] =)

As for other moves... I'm not quite sure. I don't really have a substantial knowledge for other characters, but I'm pretty sure there aren't many.

The main difference between hopping and the move I mentioned in the previous post of Shun's is that once Shun enters that command, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, the very first frame is considered to be in a handstand state. Being knocked out of a hop does have an advantage though - you can tech roll!

I would think with Lei's multiple stances and attack arsenal that he must have something like this. Other than those very rare times this comes in handy, the main reason I brought this up is to avoid Shun's hook punch after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. I've never seen any other character avoid this so I'm not certain. I think in VF3 & VF4 (not sure about VF5) that you could hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif after being thrown so the float from the hook punch wouldn't be as high. Denkai has done this to me before but it's possible I entered the hook punch command late, or lag.

I've found that if you do moves that turn your back fast, you can avoid a couple things. BT ending moves, I mean. I've done them, and had it happen too, all coincidental I think though.

MisterT VFDC: I'm not yet at the point where I can just completely break away from my PPPK and PPP/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gifK since it's been with me from the beginning. However, I try my damnest to make sure what I DO use has purpose and meaning (even if it looks pointless to the opponent). I have a few more moves I'm trying to use effectively if the situations present themselves. Having said that, it was all I can do to hang in there with your Sarah, never mind the pummeling your Vanessa gave me in our last meeting.

wasted wish: By the time you got to me, I was already pretty drained and I wasn't really taking the time to completely understand your Lei Fei which resulted in me reversing attempting on pure instinct -_- Hopefully next time I can give you a better match.

GG' To Dark Third Eye. I was under another account trying to teach my cousin VF. I only went online to show him how beautiful the game is when it is played the right way. He was amazed by Your Wolf too. I had to explain to him the nuances of the game so he could atleast try to get the gist of it. Nice little session though. I was getting pissed because i knew i was imputting TE's like a MOFO and getting tossed lol!

He's definetely scary to me than your Lau, but that's not say that I wasn't worried about him either. I'm glad you were on though, because it would've been a boring night otherwise. Akai- We had some nice fast paced matches. Hadn't played you before, so glad I finally got to.(I was moonwalker1213 btw)

Godeater- Hahaha, I was rolling the whole time we we're playing. You were beating my ass all over the place and dashing over me. I was funny, but I took my beating like a man. Heh, I knew I was gonna get it too. I don't have a clue about Lau but I wanna learn him. Good games though man (moonwalker1213 btw)

IS Serged12- Don't know if you're on here or not, but pretty good akira. Just don't keep trying to use the same setups because they became easy to read and break after a while. Very aggressive too. Some rounds you just really put the hurt on me, but thanks for all the games

Kid KRS- I believe this was another akira player, but these were good games as well. Glad to have someone else to play and learn from as well

Corey Fearless- I never see this guy mentioned on here, but to me his Jacky is beastly! This guy has great execution and is aggressive as f@#! but it's all a good thing. I don't really know how I was managing any wins at all because dude was just going crazy on me, but these were some great games. The guy knows what he's doing. None of that beat knuckle turtling mess

BorisofWhales- Good games man. Great session we had and your lion has come some ways. You were putting some hurt on me, and we just kept going back and forth with the streaks.

I'm back on my UKDdidy account now, so you shouldn't have to worry about seeing the moonwalker1213 name anymore. GG's to everyone else I missed.

Oh yeah Carolina Panther- Beatin the mess out of my kage...I was so sad. But yeah, I think I lost the touch with him since I picked akira back up. I just can't manage two very well like everyone else can. I was just so worried about those reversals, but you didn't do any....just beat my ass plain and straight. haha, good games man.

 

GG's to my homie Cozby, those matches were alot of fun. I'm getting my flow back, watch out! Some matches were to funny. I was doing El Blaze sabaki link with no problem with the SFIV Stick. BTW props on not going easy on me, it took me a while to get a TE out, you on the other hand improved since the gathering, good stuff homie, lets do it again!

Unico - not sure what's going on with this guys. Really weird style of just turtle and DM-ing all day. I'm really surprised that got you all the way to Hunter with a 78% win average. First game was a bitch, but then I figured out your style. GG's none the less.

GG's to Lucky_GT - Only 1 game, but always a blast. I think I only won that one because you were using Akira. If it was Goh's shoulders I was eating I would have probably died 10 times. You don't know how much I envy the returns Goh can get off of a single shoulder stagger.

Panther: I was playing terrible as well, i just got done playing the unico show, and that always takes me out of my game. ditto on what konjou said, but without the gg part, i don't think his game is good at all.

Hey man, it would not allow me to send you a message over xbox. I don't know why, so I'll just post ggs right away here.

Anyways, I see you finally saw how damn weak exploitable Sarah is, today. That shoulder you did with Akira, at my small adv there was nothing I could do offensively except for throw out IMMEDIATE(not delayed for evades) dragon cannon at +2's and +4's, or backdash alot, or give away my +'s. Both of which is a dumb idea alot of times. Otherwise, there was no way to hit Akira at Akira's small minus. The shoulder went under elbow, jackknife, P, 2P, etc and clashed or beat throw. Everything else was too slow, so dragon cannon was used there.

You found the special move, lol.

My matches of late has been really wanting me to play R. Your Akira's offense was fantastic though, I can't front, it was a freight train today.

EDIT: oh yeah, vs that move I tried backdash serpent a couple times, but most of the time it just kept putting me out in the "bad" spot. =|
