yeah, I get so scared sometimes for no good reason. But that side throw...I've been punished for going for heavy pounce. So I stopped doing it. I've learned through experience that if someone REALLLLLLY wants to get up, I'm gonna look stupid for pouncing...

C1REX - I've seen you post on here a lot but don't think we've ever played until the other day. Your Jeff is great. I appreciate the typical response I receive for my Shun which is, "interesting." I must say I'm glad I seem to have a reputation for him which is different than other Shuns. I have always tried to use more flash than anything. Sometimes it gets me into trouble though.

DaBadSeed - I hadn't played you in awhile. I was surprised when you switched to Lion for the ranking promotion match. I always love your comments, "Damn Drunk!" =)

Konjou - I'm surprised how well I did that night. I know the feeling believe me when you just can't seem to connect your moves. I feel for ya, it seemed like every side kick and other moves were a pixel away. I may be Assassin soon so I'll be looking for ya!

 

When you become an Assassin don't look for Konjou..Look for Denkai!

I'm about to give you much props Denkai... you are the only person online that I have had much trouble with. I'm not saying that everyone else is a breeze, but I have lost more matches to you than anyone else.

The sad thing is I used to be a Jacky expert but I stopped playing him in EVO. The way my learning works is having multiple sessions with someone. I just wish we could play locally for hours on end but online will have to do.

Don't worry though... I'm not afraid by any means to play some rank! I feel you have an advantage however by playing Itazan all the time. I get this feeling when I play you that even my best tricks are sub-par since you've seen them all before. There are a few that work but a few doesn't cut it.

 

The thing about Itazan is that once hes shows you all his tricks he will beat you with fundamental skills. Tricks are what makes VF flashy but never rely on them

 

You've phrased my problem with the game perfectly. I have developed my Shun in way where I don't need to rely that much on fundamentals, well, I should say the majority of the time.

When I find myself at a loss it is because of fundamentals. I find it interesting that almost whoever I play that is high ranked I will crush them the first game without fail. After that it's a toss up. I have played a few Conquerers and Paladins from Japan and I win 3 rounds in a row the first match but after that they crush me.

You're right about Itazan though - his fundamental skill is TOP NOTCH! I have this stubborn ambition to further my non-fundamental flash so it becomes unbeatable but I know this is unrealistic. I was talking to Rodney lately about how it's just plain lazy of me to perform triple throw escape but not guard cancel. I just never practiced it enough. There are other high-level mechanics that I don't utilize but I do know about them. Unfortunately I feel that online play isn't the best for developing these skills. At least I can still hold my own somewhat.

I remember when VF5 first came out on XBox you sent me a message saying "I like your Shun." I hope that feeling hasn't changed because lately I feel like I've been letting you down by getting beat down. =/

 

Nah I still like your shun its the flashiest around which makes for a great show. I have a question though, rarely you ring yourself out when doing a bunch of tricks do you do this intentional?

It's true I f*** up with my tricks once and awhile. I'm sure you noticed that I always like to keep Shun mobile and sometimes I like to stay close to the edge since it can mess with the opponent. However once in awhile I misjudge my back roll and I fall out. No that is not on purpose, rather, embarrassing. =/

 

Props to DaBadSeed. Those bouts were tight. Style switching was in effect, CRAZY! Your Goh, is very different compare to everyone I encounter. Your yomi with him was to sick. I had to stay calm and unleash the BLAZE! LOL! I forgot to save some of those matches. Alot of 5th round bouts. Lets do it again homie.
Props to the Dominican Republic VF crew (ShinobiX23 and his peeps) ShinobiX23 has a dangerous Kage, and his boy has very fast and dangerous Akira. Hit this guys up, GREAT Connection(EAST Coast) and great peoples as well.

 

Cheers to VF5 UK and EU/Funkynuts again, I was well sluggish during the earlier fights, but as it got later I seemed to wake up a bit. Like you said all our Brad/Goh fights seemed to go down to the last hit in the 5th round. Good games, dammit now I have to sleep and hope I get up in time for meetings and stuff. Friday though, yay!

 

I had fun tonight, lost quite a few I should have won but thats Live for ya. Seems whenever the connection is real good, I rock.
When the connection sucks, so do I. Cant understand how I can play someone over seas and lag a little, while someone in the U.S. with a bright green connection lags like a beaaatch. I really miss Akira's SDE causing crumble on CH. Cause most Live players live off of low-punch. Anyway GG's to the following.

Major GG to ACTION KUNG FU! I'm sorry for the random punch strings but since you figured out my p > throw pattern i was in a bind. Your mastery of space with Sarah is so good it's frustrating, you manage to have me whiff for me pixels all the time. Really good footwork too. Maybe you and Kaminari_oyaji should record some matches and post them for us to enjoy, your playing style is quite similar with stepping, spacing, g- and fla- cancels, really flashy, it would be pretty to see!

And now for a little white publicity (Lyon reprazent!) but, speaking of frustrating, i must assert that kingo is, afaic, of all the Aoi players i've had the chance of playing on xbox live, the best Aoi player out there. So far he's the only one that can pull 10-nill win streaks on me. He did it again 2 days ago. I could try pretexting it was because i hadn't played online for a while and my timing is off and crap but the fact is everybody else just doesn't pull max damage floats with aoi. Yes people, d+k,p,p is not the max damage float. It works on everybody, true, but relying on okizeme traps to make up for the difference will only get you so far. Not that it's not effective (it is, i fall for them all the time) but, eventually, i'll manage to guess right too, thus ending your win streak, and it's a pity for you. Kingo let's try and meet up one of these days ok? I promise i'll leave my cellphone at home this time.
