man i thought your offense was crazy... your defense made it way harder for me to get to your lion...

Yeah, those fights were fun. Jeff is my #2 so I am comfortable playing a little bit of D vs. Jeff; I know which moves are punch counterable, small or large disadvantage etc. That and the fact that with Lion I can't just pour on the offense like I can with Lau. The only way I (and anyone else I've seen) can play Lion is wimpy and annoying. You better guard your ankles and your nether regions - Lion's in the House!

eh? I thought lion was all about pouring on the offense (albeit towards the ankles and nether regions)...

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's good to turtle with Lion. Once you have an advantage, you really want to press it. But I abare less w/Lion than w/Lau.

GG to a developing player I met on player matches today and I feel has some potential his name is T 1 Banga xx. I played his Akira and Sarah and they showed a considerable amount of potential and it was obvious that he has good knowledge of the game. He helped to get me big time because I couldn't get any decent ranking matches at all last night and my battles with him were the highlight of my night. Also good games to Auvii and good jacky in development he was the best ranking match opponent I had all night long and the only ranked opponents I faced tonight aside from the grays and 1 bar connections I always ignore that I see daily.

Awesome matches from Gernsburg my Vanessa was have hard time at first but once I saw what he was doing I was giving him the elbow of justice ( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif). It still sucks that my offensive stance was useless against a continually jabbing and quick hitting foe the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (OS) pop up would have helped but it didn't work for very long and I couldn't hit him consistently after that but thanks to him I found a few tricks I think I can use in OS but I will to try them out in dojo. Thanks for the work out.

GG Gernburgs neat games. don't know if you noticed a switch in the
way Shun played last night. You were first fighting me, then
switched to Woo. Needless to say he's better at dealing with low
punch and constant evades. I think I need to stick with Jeffry
    haha.

Hitting him with his side stepping, quick hits and jabs were tricky at first but I figured it out soon enough. I had rely heavily on simple anti jab and anti side step tactics more then I felt I had to but they were great matches regardless.

If I was playing Jeff it wouldn't have been an issue. Knees eat up
all of that. Shun Di is a "whole nother ball of wax."

quoted because it has to be one of the dumbest sayings of all time.

Look up the defensive elbow in the wiki this should help you seriously I don't really know how to counter it personally I would think that goh's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif would be able to beat vanessa's defensive elbow but I am shocked it didn't.

Both of those moves are slower than Vane's DS elbow. With goh, I think his 6P or 4P should both beat the elbow. Basically any fast mid, such as almost any other character's elbow will win against Vane's DS elbow. Or you can just block, I think the elbow puts her at large disadvantage on guard.

man today was friggin nuts!!! i get to fighting, and i get in a ranking match with Xzyx987X, and in the middle of the combo i was doing, the xbox freezes!!! im sitting there in shock and awe... i get back on and send a msg to him tellin him what happened... my rank bar dropped considerably, and i was almost close to getting 8th at that time... on top of that, there were matches i would try to do a 42p+k and ended up doing 42p... iunno what was up with that... well i ended up getting it and then went straight to 9th dan!!! im thinking "finally"!!! i was stuck on 7th for so long i was beginning to think i wasn't learning anything or was just plain monotonous... well gg to the following:

cadorna- ur defense and throw setups have improved greatly!!!
oioron- pretty dope kage!!! lets get some matches in sometime...
    syndrome08
    ayufanb0y
geewaiho- can i get some feedback on those matches plz??? i already know i did a few things i didnt mean to do...
    kotamo (jp player)
brisal73- i've only fought u once, and that very match was to the wire... great wolf homie!!!
jcruzyooou- crazy pai... i have to start working on throw breaks some more, including the diagonals which kill me against kage and akira...
vape81- another dope vanessa... its an epidemic or something, 'cause thats all i seem to be fighting now is vanessas and pais... when did u get master???

Wow, I freakin love VF. When I was playing DOA, in tough pressure situations, there is NOTHING to fall back on to play a solid game. There is never any guaranteed damage. I've had Master ranking for a while now, but I was being selective when to play 10th dans, since I've had it several times before (probably the one good thing about Master is that it grants you immunity no matter WHAT dan you play as long as they aren't 10th dan - meaning I can play people one rank above me and 9th dans for no ranking penalty). Today though, I saw Brisal on ranking with a 10th dan, and I was freakin nervous as balls, but I decided to pick his room anyway. What I love about VF is that even though I was practically shaking in my boots, I knew I had fundamentals to bank on when playing.

I actually forget who won the first one, but he either won the first or second, then I won it back, then played him like 2 more times while I had master, each timing making me sweat in my boots and thinking I was crazy for putting it on the line like that again and again. Like I said though, what I love is that even though you may be under pressure, since VF does have the fundamental good techniques, that can overcome nervousness... you know what crucial situations are and how to capitalize, unlike some OTHER crappy fighting games where randomness can just kill it for you. Since our connection was 4 green bars and clear, I knew that each time we were playing the winner was just whoever was making the best decisions and playing the opponent better each time. This person just kept trading between us.

Wow... what a pressure cooker... getting up 3 on Master, losing it to him, challenging again, rinse repeat... wow... great matches Brisal. It's a tad unfair though that the penalty for losing a Master's challenge for the 10th dan person is losing so much life, and that even when you win as Master, if you win again, you don't get the life back. Good looking out man, not caring about the rank and telling me you were still up for the games even though you knew the very next match you would have been de-ranked if you lost. Then you were a great sport and kept on making the rooms, giving me the chance to earn it back - it just compelled me to keep playing you again, no matter how much I wanted to stop the self-torture. I'm sure hearts were pounding on both ends. Good games man. Although I will admit, it was a load off my shoulder and I could actually relax when playing you when I didn't have the huge "losing Master burden" on my shoulders anymore.[/size] /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
