Hello, my name is Francisco Benitez Espinoza, and I'm from Chile. I'm 20 years old, and I've been playing VF since the first game.

I've played several fighting games in my life, including 2D classics like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 2; newer 2D games like 3rd Strike and Guilty Gear; also played other 3D games like Tekken and Soul Calibur. But, I always return to my beautiful Virtua Fighter. The depth, the techniques, the mind games, the many many options, are just a small portion of things I love about this game. Please bring Virtua Fighter 5R to consoles!! We all need it.

Heyo, my name is Keenan Stewart and I live in Cedar Hill Texas.

I'm a heavy fighting gamer and even though virtual fighter wasn't my first fighting game or even my all time favorite I really enjoy playing it. First time I did play it was about 5 years back at my uncles house, he had virtual fighter 3 and I gotta say when I picked up the sticks it was fantastic.

When VF5 came out I was blown outta my mind on how well it looks and played. I'm a Lei-Fei and Goh player but once I got to see Jean Kujo and Taka-Arashi go at it I was even more excited about it, then I got disappointed because they were only on the arcade.

So if this goes on console, which I hope with my very soul it does then i'll promise to buy a copy and get all my other friends who are fighting game nuts to get one as well, which they were probably already going to anyway.

and I know SEGA may think of this as a idk kinda idea but I can promise you guys if you bring this out it'll bring out alot more sales, esspecially when you guys already released awesome games like Godhand, Veautifull Joe, Bayonetta and alot of others in the past. So I beg you guys please bring this game out, and please send it out to everyone, we don't want that BS where it comes out in Europe and Japan but nowhere else so give it some hard thought and bring it out, with downloadable extra's if ya don't mind, everyone loves downloadable content.

Long Live VF & SEGA forever, Peace.

My name is Marc Gonzalez and I live in Miami, Florida.

I started playing Virtua Fighter 5 around the same time I started college. A friend of mine (incident73) had convinced me to try the game out. I had never been into the series before but now it's my favorite fighting game.

It's been two years since 5R was released in arcades. I think it's due time for worldwide console release. If 5R gets one, I'm definitely buying it.

i have been playing VF for a few years now. with the release of vf5 on the ps3 i taught i would finally get to play competitively online.i was wrong , with the release for vr5r in japan i taught for sure this time i would be able to play against some real players.i was wrong no vf5r in the us . so i took thing into my own hands. i decided to invite a few of my friends over to play , they did not get the fighting system down at first due to the fact, they were stuck on throwing fire balls with ryu and ken, lol . but after a few days they grew to see how complex and fun VF really is. today they all own a copy of vf5 and a few went back to ps2 to try vf4 an vf4evolution. So please SAGA. please release vf5r in north America with online play. i currently only own a ps3 but for some reason its just on xbox360 i will buy a 360 just to play this ..

Like many others have already said: western VF-scene really, badly needs an up-to-date version of the greatest fighting game series ever made. I used to play Virtua Fighter almost exclusively ever since VF4 (Playstation 2). It really was my fighting game of choice.

Since then, the situation has drastically changed. I played Street Fighter 3rd Strike as a "second game" even when I considered Virtua Fighter as my absolute main game. I bought PS3 because hey, "Virtua Fighter 5 is coming for it!"... Time showed that I got the short end of the stick on that one. It wasn't really that bad because I got to play the updated Xbox 360-version as much as I wanted even though I myself didn't see it reasonable to buy ANOTHER console and ANOTHER arcade stick controller for one game (I still haven't bought XO... probably never will).

So, what happened to me and my love for Virtua Fighter? There is a reasonable large "LAN/demoscene/gaming" - semi-annual gathering here in Finland, called Assembly. World Cyber Games qualifications have been arrenged there for a few years now. I placed third in WCG Virtua Fighter 5 qualifications in summer 2008... and that was about the last time I played Virtua Fighter really seriously.

The western scene has been hoping for a console release of VF5R for a quite some time now. Some of us have already lost their hope for that and moved on to another games. Like myself. When I realized that it wasn't coming anytime soon, I started to play more 3rd Strike... and then came SF4... and Blazblue. Even revitalized SNK Playmore is giving us re-releases and updates (KoF 2002 UM) at a steady pace. Let's face it: the VF is going to die in west! But it doesn't have to be so. High profile release of VF5R could really make the difference. I'm still interested in what Virtua Fighter has to offer. Good, balanced gameplay with some new characters in the best fighting game franchise ever. That's what I'm hoping for, please prove me right.

Long time Sega fan, have had the entire core Sega systems from the Sega Master to the Dreamcast. I’ve always been a fan of the VF series starting in the arcades, and then fell in love with the games even more when they finally became available for the consoles. It kind of sadden me to Sega stop making hardware since I was used to playing Sega games on Sega Systems. I felt it was a good financial move for Sega to deliver the VF Series to other platforms to make more people aware of the fabulous game Sega/AM2 have created. I only bought my XBOX360 platform for VF5; I actually bought the game before I even bought the system. So it would be highly appreciated for Sega to continue the tradition and make V5R available for console with online support. Thanks Sega for all the years of great games like VF and all the other classics that were produced by the company.

    Dear Sega,

I started playing Virtua Fighter in my Sega Saturn. Before, I played this game in Arcade and Sega Dreamcast.
I'm fighting games fan and, in my opinion, Virtua Fighter is one of the best games ever released. Since Virtua Fighter 5 R was released, I hope for a release for X-Box 360 or PS3, because, unfortunately here in Brazil, few arcades of Virtua Fighter.

    Your sincerely,

    To Sega:

Been playing VF since VF2, I remember first being hooked on an old demo version that ran on the PC. Although, it wasn't until VF4 that I actually "got into the game", bought VF4 Vanilla for my PS2 and played the crap out of it. VF4 Evo came along, and things got even better.

Evo's training mode really opened my eyes. There was just so much to learn, and I couldn't get enough. It was so in-depth, so complex, and so much deeper than VF4 Vanilla's, it really made me realize I had no idea what I was doing up until that point. Granted VF4FT came out after that, but with no western release, I eventually moved to other fighters.

Fast-forward to VF5 on the 360. Finally, a new VF, with online play, and with the BEST netcode I have ever seen on a console fighter. It was great to be able to challenge people around the globe, get exposure to various playstyles, and in doing so learn even more about my main characters. I loved every minute of it, every single match, win or lose. The added pressure of ranking matches online, knowing you were *that* close to ranking up, or that you had to give it your all in the next match or else risk demotion. It was a taste of the Japanese arcade experience, to be sure.

Then VF5R releases in Japan, (like, a couple MONTHS after my brief visit there) and at first I'm incredibly excited. New characters, moves, all kinds of tweaks, tons of new items and customization options...but then I think, "remember VF4FT." In spite of that, I watched Youtube matches, saw how my favorite characters had been improved and made even MORE awesome, and so I hoped against all odds that we would see this in the West too, at some point. Unfortunately, as of yet, there have been no plans for this to happen, and it's been tough to face up to that.

Of course, I still have my VF5 for 360, and it is still an incredible (but outdated) game. However, with the decline of VF5's online community (most of the time it can get pretty scarce looking for opponents) once again I've had to move to other fighters. I've dabbled in a few, but have "settled" on Tekken 6 and BlazBlue, (with a *little* Soul Calibur IV, Street Fighter 4, etc on the side) Granted, these games are excellent too, in their own way (especially BlazBlue, Continuum Shift looks very good, and WILL see console release IIRC), but to be honest, I've just been trying to fill the void left by VF5R being missing. Watching VF5R on Youtube can only go so far.

If VF5R were to be released for both PS3 and 360 in the West, I am certain that a legion of players would come flocking back. I would be one of them.

    Dear Sega,

I've been playing the VF series since the very first Saturn came out. I remember my cousin getting it and then my cousin, my brother, and I couldn't believe what a great fighting game VF was till you started a series out of it. It was amazing and part 2 was even more amazing. Part 3 was my least fav. but till VF4 and 5 came through, they've have satisfied me like no other 3D fighter has. VF has been the best 3D fighter hands down. No other 3D fighter like Tekken can touch VF's gameplay. I would love to see VF5R to be released here in the states, it's a must. I don't know how much it would be, don't care if it's a brand new game or a patch, I will get it. I still own my copy of VF5 and I actually bought the copy two times. Please release VF5R, it would be awesome of you guys to do so.

    Thank you,

    Carlos, US

    P.S.

Sega Saturn is my fav. console from you guys. I would love to see a Sega Saturn collection sometime in the future. Thank you for your time and best of luck.

I'm new to this board, but the desire to bring VF5R to the home consoles is something I share. I've been playing VF since Virtua Fighter 2 all the way to VF5 on the PS3. (I've even played Fighter's Megamix.) I own both versions of Virtua Fighter 4 on the PS2 and I still play both (Evo more than Regular, though.) and to not see a home version of VF5R (even a DLC add-on) is unfair to us gamers in the US. This needs to happen now...

I've been playing VF since the beginning. It'll always be one of my favorites, and one of the greatest fighters of all time. I'm disappointed that Sega hasn't released this game on console yet. I own VF5 and used to play it for hours. I would definitely pick this game up asap if it was to be released on consoles just like I did VF5.

im not the type to post on any forum but i am not going to let my chance of playing vf5r to die on my watch

i took a chance on buying vf 4 evo in 2007 and remains my favorite fighting game of all time...this games deep tutorial actually help restore my love of fighting games and taught me a lot of terms and technique that helped me in not only virtua fighter but all other fighters as well...i also enjoyed the fluid fighting styles ,animations and visuals of this game...

once i bought my 360 vf5 was one of the 1st games i purchased for the system and i still enjoy this game till this day and hoped for a sequel...then all of a sudden i see youtube vids of virtua fighter 5 r w/ awesome looking new costumes, amazing new wall grabs and one of the coolest looking new characters Jean with a fresh traditional fighting style...

...but ive waited a year and a half for a console announcement and it seems it has been in vain until now...sega if you are reading this, please release vf5r in america and you will have a day 1 purchase from me and hopefully every single person who posted in this thread will as well.

    Dear Sega,

Ever since the Virtua Fighter series started, i've loyally played and followed each entry as they've been released, and loved them. Now i'm up to Virtua Fighter 5, which I felt was truly an amazing entry in the series. Your newest game, Virtua Fighter 5R, looks even more incredible than the last, but there's one problem: You haven't released it on consoles for fans like myself to enjoy. I assure you that there's MANY people that want to play this game, and that the release of Virtua Fighter 5R would be a FIRST DAY purchase for me, as well as for everyone else on this petition. I ask you to please consider releasing this entry in the series for all to enjoy.

One of the things I really like about VF5R is how you can show some of the frame data during replays. This is a great feature that I don't think is in any other fighting game, and it can really help people to learn how to avoid making mistakes and improve their game. Unfortunately I can't have a go at this myself because this game is arcade only! VF5 is great, but it does feel disappointing to know that we are missing out on the full version, if we only play on consoles. If you release VF5R on consoles I'll buy 2 copies, promise!

Man man man... I use to be a tekken player, after I saw jeffery's coconut crush on a demo in and Eb games tv screen. I was wowed. I preordered it and was impressed. When VF4 was gonna be released on PS3 the screens again i was excited. when I got my hands on that game i never stopped playing it. my nephew and I dedicated ourselves to study everything we could about VF4 from frame data for players to the most difficult combos that i saw on youtube videos from japans best players.same with vf5. It upsets me that i even picked up tekken 6. its fustrating that when i block an attack i dont have the advantage. please release VF5R for ps3. even if its a download. i cant stand not being ble to play it.

I've been playing VF since 1 in the arcade, then playing them like crazy on the saturn, from there I moved on to dreamcast, and ps2, and now I play 5 on 360. As a long time fan of the series, I would love to see vf5r make the journey to consoles and stateside! I would be absolutely ecstatic! Please make it happen, guys!

    Sincerely,

I've been a Virtua Fighter fan since the Sega Saturn. I didn't really get into it, though, until 5 came out on the 360 and me and my fighting game friends all really hit it hard, trying to become good at it so we could get together and have good matches. R was announced while we were still playing, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Jean, a karateka with a style I had wanted to use since I started playing the series. Much to my dismay, the character never made it to home consoles, and it's hard to find arcades with a good fighting game selection anymore, so I never got to play him. We've since fallen out of our Virtua Fighter groove, but I think R coming to consoles would be just the thing we need to revitalize our interest. Virtua Fighter is the one true king of 3D Fighters!

Virtua Fighter came after Tekken for me, which means I was already use to a left and right punch and kick buttons. So I was like what is this game with the strange attack button set up. I checked it out and soon learned that I had another problem.... It's steep learning curve, but I hung in there and VF quickly became my favorite fighting game... Please, Please bring VF5R out for the the home consoles.
