    Just to clarify, the answers to questions about Nitaku, -6/7 and Fuzzy Guard can be found in the "VF5 Fuzzy Guard" thread.

    Akira tidbit of the day:

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif gives +12 on Counter Hit! So, by mixing up the follow-ups to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, and combining them w/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, Throw, you've got a chance to hit someone who tries to Attack your Throw attempt w/ the canned /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. If you get this to work, Throw is guaranteed, as well as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

    a couple of weird things:

    1. the VFDC command list puts /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif @ +6 on Counter Hit, the BB says +8.

    2. I think the -9 the book lists for Akira's Om /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif on Counter Hit is a mistake, as everyone else in the game's OM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif gives +9.

    Thanks for the corrections. The command list has been updated.

    I also changed OM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif on CH to +9 instead of -9. Yeah, that looks like a typo in the book.

    a few things I've noticed/tried since getting the game:

    the Kuzushi Moko DOES indeed make a stomach KD! From /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, I've gotten it to make both a forwards and backwards KD, which is interesting. I'm not sure what the conditions are, as I've seen hitting a Turning Towards attack make the forward facing KD, maybe it depends on the speed of the attack? I've also gotten it from the Stumbling Throw, by using the old /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif trick from the "Super Moko" VF4 trick. Basically, they have time to struggle, but if you do:

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

    you'll dash a little, then do the buffered Moko, and if they're trying to Low /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif etc to avoid a Dash & Throw after the Stagger, they'll get Counter Hit for the Stomach KD. A standard easy combo that I know always works is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

    In sad news, I haven't been able to chain the Double Palm after either the K .Moko OR the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, even though the Frame Data says it should be possible. Perhaps it's no longer possible to perfectly buffer the DblPm without loosing a frame? I'm gonna try some more.

    The black book list Akira's double palm as a 13 frame move now. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif], /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif gives +13 so Akira needs 1 more frame for a guaranteed double palm. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

    Ahhh, finally found someone who mentioned this move. What's the point of this move? If you have a successful hit, you'll have a side-turned opponent, who can recover quicker than any moves Akira can do... is there some proper follow-up for this move?

    It's a 19f semicircular move, relatively safe on hit (-7) - which in itself is pretty good. There are no canned followups, or for that matter no guaranteed followups, but Akira's in a very good position if the move hits as a MC (+8).

    It's a true nitaku situaton, with the added benefit of leaving the opponent sideturned.

    The opponent doesn't have time to crouch (or fuzzy). Evading out of a sideturned situation is very difficult. If he tries attacking with any move at all, even if it's a 10f /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, a simple sidekick by Akira (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif) will MC and net a side crumple for a nice high damage combo that's also very easy to perform ( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif).

    If he just stands and guards, throw. If you delay the throw a bit, it will come out as a 0f throw.

    On normal hit the move is still good, but the advantage is considerably less at +5 - hence, the opponent can fuzzy out of attempted nitaku, and even MC /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif the sidekick attempt with a fast character.

    I find it's an underrated move that's a considerable improvement over the old version. Use it like you would use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, for variety.

    Speaking of 0 frame throw, what does it exactly mean and how does it exactly work? In other words, under which circumstances a 0 frame throw can be performed?

    If the throw would have landed in 12 frames, it will land in 0.

    With exception when you're recovering from a succesful evade or blocked an attack, where you won't get a 0 frame throw regardless of how much advantage you have.

    I was studying some of Akira's videos last night, and saw one particular match vs. another Akira where he did this:

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

    From the replay, it looked as if he had enough time to get the Youhou before the opponent could turn back around... is this actually possible, or can the opponent struggle out?

    It takes additional frames for the opponent to turn around and guard.

    I'm guessing that after the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, the opponent tried to attack and got countered by the yoho. Akira is +18 after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. I'm almost positive the opponent could've just guarded and blocked the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (as it takes 18 to execute).

    After a few rounds with my buddies, results were inconclusive, as each time I forced the situation, my opponent naturally attacked, and the Youhou went right through.

    However, my very last match, my opponent said that he held block the entire time during that sequence, and the combo still completed.

    More research needed! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

    OK, after more trial and error in training mode, and with some collaboration with a co-worker, if the opponent guards, then it reduces the window of opportunity dramatically, meaning the Youhou needs to be precisely timed. If done right, then it is unblockable, however the combo needs to be modified depending on the weight of the opponent.

    My co-worker also informed me that the pullback throw can also be escaped, similar to Goh's tsukami. If the opponent guesses up or down correctly, then Akira is at -9. It doesn't seem though that you can make multiple guesses though, and from my observation, the slam can be slightly delayed.

    So in other words, it can be avoided, blocking is possible but relies on mistiming on the inputs, and -9 on correct guess is not a bad risk versus the 70+ damage reward. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    I've heard (and done several times) that in order for the Yoho to connect, you need to buffer a dash before it. So, the whole thing looks like:

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif-> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

    I haven't tested it extensively, but this is what someone else told me: if you use the above method, it's unblockable. You won't actually see the dash, just that the Yoho will connect.

    Awesome, I'll have to try that tomorrow... I was usually buffering the crouch dashes, not just to cover ground, but to make sure I input the Youhou correctly :p Thanks akiralove!

    Srider and I just messed around with the escaping of the pull-in throw, and we're 99% sure that you can escape all three followups...
