Modesto is too far out of the way for me, but I don't mind traveling through most of the Bay Area for a gathering/tourney. I could maybe put my pad up for a small gathering, but I'd need to know pretty far in advance.

  12. Hi guys,

Renzo and I got back on Monday... We've been recuperating since then. D:

Anyways, we'll check up what's happening on the 29th, so we'll keep in touch.

We got our new Japanese power in VF from Japan. D:

    Hey all,

Not too long ago 001 came up with the idea of a big NorCal gathering sometime in January or February. Something that would pull most (if not all) of the NorCal players to one place.

If he has the space, maybe 001 could hold it at his place in Danville, which is also a reasonable distance for Sacramento and Stockton players (NykkoMT, BlackLAC, etc.). I can bring a 360, two Hori sticks and a TV.

I was even thinking we could possibly make this a "big" event and invite some SoCal players and some others from the Tekken and Soul Calibur communities who're just starting out or interested in learning VF.

I think an event like this is a good way to build the community and increase the chances of VF5 being included at Evo next year. Which would be great, because I've been itching for an excuse to finally make the trip to Evo again. :p

Just throwing the idea out there.

    FEEDBACK PLEASE! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Oh, and Happy Holidays or something.

I'm going to be recording in San Francisco in either late January or early February. I've spoken with Sebo about this already -- I'd love to come up when this is going down. Keep me posted.

Also, soakrates -- I read you're in SoCal for the holidays. Whereabouts? Myself, Shiz (Dark Timmy), and Sebo got together for 7 hours of VF in Irvine (Orange County) yesterday @_@ ....

We might be doing it again on the 26th. If you'd care to join hit us up!

I'll actually be staying closer to Riverside, so Irvine is a little out of the way for me, unfortunately. I'll definitely give it some thought though.

If and when we have a date for this gathering, I'll let you know. In the meantime, please feel free to mention this in the SoCal thread and point some people to it, if you want. We could use all the feedback we can get.

Just out of curiosity, what will you be recording? I gotta know, cuz I'm a would-be musician myself (been playing guitar for about 15 years).

I sing and play guitar and keys for an indie pop outfit out of San Diego. One of our songs is featured on the upcoming second season DVD of How I Met Your Mother on CBS (yes, I'm proud of selling out, I need to pay bills).

We play Beatles-esque or Shins-esque music with an emphasis on melody, harmony, and classic pop craft. Think '60s pysch-pop.

Also, I'll let the SD VFers know about the possible Norcal meet. As for myself -- consider me there!

Sounds cool. Will you be going to NAMM next month?

Good to know you plan to attend. Now all we need is for some actual NorCal VFers to respond to this. :p

whoever goes to namm has to gank me a vestax controller 1 turntable. :p

but yeah for everybody interested in a bigger gathering that we all can meet for, start posting up some dates you're free. i'm thinking this will be norcal's primer for the socal meet in march and possible good evo west practice (once it's announced.

As long as it doesn't happen at the same time as an awesome night at SFsketchfest, I'm probably down for almost any weekend.
