Asian and Japanese versions have shipped out from Play-Asia, aside from the orders that ship with the VF stick (DARN).

Play-Asia has indeed shipped VF5 as well as the RAP3. Delivery date is listed as the 6th! Finally I'll be able to quell that nagging doubt that the Japanese VF5 will not work on my US PS3 even though it is specifically labeled and well known to be region free.

I don't think anyone thinks that the Japan version will not play in a US PS3, its more of a concern that the text and language will not change thus having dumb people like myself not being able to comprehend Japanese. Please post your findings on the language settings when you get the game!

saw this over at strikebang (play-asias forum sponsor) for the asian copy of VF5. Looks like we hit our first minor bug. Since it seems all the discs went gold at the same time, NA release will probably encounter the same problem.

"I received my copy of VF5 this morning. While the backcover states 1080p support, the game was only running on 720p on my TV. First I thought it was a firmware issue, so I upgraded to 1.51, but the outcome was still the same.

I tried some other games again that support 1080p (like Tekken5) and there was no problem.

After some tests I figured out the following. To make VF5 run on 1080p, you need to go to display options and untick 720p and 1080i support (only leave 480p/1080p).

Once I have done that, the game was indeed running in 1080p. Now I am not sure if this is a TV problem (but again like I said I had no issued with other 1080p games in the past) or if VF5 is simply running on 720p as default, even though 1080p support is activated in the options."

What about 1080i support? Any problems getting 1080i to work "out of the box"?

To answer my own post....

1080i works fine out of the box. No problems what-so-ever!

Myke can you add this to the FAQ as the game is officially out!.

To unlock Dural complete arcade mode with all characters at least once.

To unlock the dojo levels in vs play, complete the command training with at least four characters. [I think there is four types of dojo stages]

There is some other secrets though :S

Wow this FAQ is really curt and needs a lot of work. One We asked HOW to save replays in VF5 in another thread and were refered to this thread. THIS FAq doesnt say how, it just says that you can. Not really helpful.

Most importantly IT has nothing about the gam, eplay changes in VF5 over EVO and Final TUNED. THATS THE FIRST THING THE FAQ SHOULD have, not OPTIONS AND THE ARCADE STICK. We know all about the offens`ive evade and the clashes (I love the Clashes by the way, a good way to shut down Jeffrey and WOLF), but you should obligatory description of them anyway just for those of us who didnt have the money to go to JAPAN to play this thing in the arcades. TWO: WHERE is the SECTION ON ALL THE ADDITIONAL moves ADDED TO THE GAME AFTER FINAL TUNED? WHT is there no Eileen and EL BLAZE breakdown section? No Bios? Im sure some small pocket of people care that Shun Di's face doesnt turn red in the AMERICAN setting, but IM not one of them. If this thing is FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, how come it leaves out the MOST frequently asked questions.

The panty shot was nice though, if not helpful.

its a PS3 faq not a systems guide. Read before you type.

After looking at your nice panty shot and doing some introspection I looked at the Japanese manual , and it shows the VS mode section, with captions for VFTV.net, and a little english Blurn that says HDD 2200KB. which I assume is what ammount of memory a replay file takes up. MY katakana and hirigana are pretty rusty at this point, but looking at page 12 in the manual on the bottom , bullet 2 says "stage", bullet 3 says "CHARACTER" , and BULLET 4 says "replay" and bullet 5 also says REPLAY, unfortunately they didnt givce away the exact button to press to do record a replay , in katakana or english, so Im screwed. Ive been standing on the select button all the time, and have no joy recording some of my best matches in QUEST mode.

Im getting the uneasy , horrifying idea you CAN'T record replays in Quest mode, only VERSUS. IF so, this sucks.

OH is a PS3 FAQ? WOW YOU REALLY HELPED ME OUT THERE. I ALMOST THOUGHT IT WAS an ATARI JAGUAR FAQ!
DUH no DOY its a PS3 faq is still imcomplete, and doesnt have the MAIN THING I ASKED FOR: the BUTTON INPUT TO SAVE REPLAYS. So instead of giving snippy prickly replies that dont answer my question how about you read my question before being catty and snapping your fingers at me in "Z" formation.
NOT only THAT its still lacks alot as a PS3 only faq, IT says next to NOTHING about the customization feature, or how many points each part costs or if Any were added for THE PS3 version.

FOR MANY of us this is our first time playing VF5 so why not expand it to include some actuall GAMEPLAY tweaks and edition.
You know show a little consideration, instead of being perpetually pissy to new posters.

http://www.hk-vf.net has an item list, with all the info you need. Its not in english, but not that hard to figure out what the values mean.
