Actually, porting VF4:FT to all 3 formats would be a smart move. It mighht cost a bit more money but would do allot to expose the series to non-VF players. It could be sold as a full price game on GC and Xbox, and a budget title on PS2 - if this were possible.

And I agree, of course graphics matter, even with hardcore players. I'd be really dissapointed if VF5 didn't push the technology envelope and introduce insane levels of detail in both character models and backgrounds.

i agree. i think VF 4 FT. would be great on the x box though. i never really played the arcade versions of VF 4 until after i bought VF 4 EVO. for the ps2 (there really are not any good arcades around where i live) i used to think that DOA 3 was the best looking fighting game ever made but when i saw VF 4EVO in the arcades and played it i noticed a difference between the home and arcade versions. To me VF 4 EVO arcade version looks better than the home version and DOA 3. i think it would be a smart move if sega put VF 4 FT on the x box. arcade perfect graphics.

I think that regardless, VF will be on the PS2. Sega would be making a really bad decision financially if they released it solely for the X-box.

On Graphics, I do believe that graphics are very important to a game. Seeing X-box games with amazing graphics really do enhance the experience. Graphics are also that first impression that gamers get when they play the game. If the graphics are good, then the player will be awed and want to play more, allowing more subtle characteristics, like gameplay, music, and sound to fill out the rest. After all, as human beings we mainly use our eyes to understand our surroundings.

Anyway, it should be understood that graphics are only a means to draw the player in and immerse them in an environment. The meat of the game is in the gameplay.

In a way, graphics are gameplay...they represent the gameplay visually.

That's a stretch, imo. Sure, graphics contribute to the overall game experience, but they are not gameplay. VF4 can be played with VF1 character models, right? The gameplay has not changed, but the graphics have. They are separate components of the experience.

Reason I stated my lack of enthusiasm for FT to have enhanced graphics is because I really don't think the game needs it at all. We've all been happy with playing Evo in both the arcade and the PS2 - as have the players in Japan. Why even bother updating the graphics - it's completely unnecessary. While it is a new version, it's still VF4. So, keep it VF4.

Upgrade the graphics keeps in line with the intention of FT: to draw in more players and make more money. No company should ever be content to keep status quo.

This has nothing to do with VF4FT, I don't want to start a new thread.

Sega just sign PowerVR chip for next-gen Arcade.

VF:FT will be released for PS2, IF it is released for a console..

VF will be released for a Sony console. End of Story.

It's a Sega-AM2's game with fans all over japan. Do you think they would release such a game for the Seattle console? I don't think so.

PS3 will come out Fall 2005, prolly early 2006. I don't know where you read that about the console coming next year, but it's bullshit. FT will come out for PS2 with ugly graphics (or not..). If Polyphony Digital is able to create a game as GT3 or GT4 with Godly Graphics for the PS2, so is Sega-Am2 (I hope...).

Playstation 2 has amazing capabilities, but only the best programmers can push the console's technical capabilities to the maximum.

Question: Does VF use Bump-Mapping? Searched all over the forums and didn't find a thing..

Instead of spouting off internet rumor mill BS, why not just say "HI! I'M A SONY FANBOY" and be done with it? I mean, it's not like it's hidden or anything.

Allow me Zero-dono.... I'm not a sony fanboy..I wish I had an Xbox...

    It's not a rumour, it's a comment.

    Calm down...

Wow..VF has bump-mapping capabilities..Never thought that would be possible| Cool though!

It's just a shame I don't see any more ps2 games with bump mapping. In my opinion, Evo's graphics are great, with only one flaw: Lightning effects.
We all know PS2 is rather crappy in that department (Splinter Cell for PS2 is closer to GBA's lightning effects than to XBox..), but I guess it can be fixed.

I would love if Tuned came out for PS5. Oh yeah =) Awsomely powerful graphics. I would Love to see the game for PSP too =P. Though it would be like playing on a pad =( But imagine the Fights between friends, hehe. You would be able to do it everywhere!!

I'm not sure about bump maping on vf4evo PS2. Main GFX change between vf4 and evo version on PS2 is that the character are anti-aliased (wich is good). The rings and background are not anti-aliased, if it's the case in vf-ft on PS2, it's allready a good change.

Now I dunno what engine Sega is using for vf on PS2, something created by Sega? If it's the case, they may improve it. For my part I think that better GFX can directly mean better gameplay. If there is a way to display more maps, more polygones, we could have rings looking like in vf3 by exemple. You see the link with gameplay with such exemple? frame rate is a second exemple.

All I wait for nexts vf is better rings back, gameplay is allready awesome, moves are awesome, characters are very differents and complette...

I'm not sure what you mean here. Every VF has been 60 frames/s. Every home version has been 60 frames/s.

Yes, there is no frame rate problem with vf /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's a general exemple.

Seems like you are the retard.
He obviously resides in Europe and does not have a NTSC capable TV so VF4/VF4Evo for him runs in 50Hz meaning its letterboxed and 17% slower.

Fishie, why do you even waste your time replying the "YOU'RE OWNED-boy"?

It's his hobby...flaming for no reason whatsoever, even if he makes a mistake..

Hey man, I know how you feel, I had the same problem... Just do the test before playing. If it shows black & white but runs fine, then buy a SCART EURO/AV cable and use it. That'll do it just fine. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well Fishie, while your boyfriend’s dick size might be obvious to you, it might not be to others. While you are familiar to stupidity, other might not. Why don’t you download a 50hz vf4 copy instead of being a retard playing a fucked up game and complain about it on the Internet.
And Hiko, the moron from Portugal, are you the same fuckhead who posted your mom milking herself to make you breakfast?
    fucking eurofags
