Sega planning something soon for VF5...

well basically if this huge secret announcement ISNT international vf5r i'm dropping this game forever

 

I've seen enough gimmicks and random factors in VF. Ask Kaminari_Oyaji about how standing neutral is invulnerable to mid rising attacks I'd say the random aspects are alot easier to deal with in UFC than VF.

Eh, I know I can tell when I'm at a disadvantage or advantage in this game. Watch for recovery.

I'm not grasping what you're seeing that I'm not, when comparing the two games. Alot of factors in both games are extremely similar.

You don't like Flash KO's? Don't eat a single palm in VF5R, cuz u die. If you play tight in VF, you wont have to worry about eating random floaters or throws. Same deal

It depends on who you play with, in both cases. Sometimes, I'll just plain beat people, other times, it isn't so easy. A friend of mine is a 3s player, and he plays the heck outta the game. I tried getting him to play VF; He played for awhile, but he admits that there aren't enough ppl to keep him around.

I'm not trying to be the black sheep here, haha, but I just had to defend that game for a moment. Overall, I think you guys are overestimating the depth of VF.

yo coz, i don't mean to be putting you down, but it's easy for someone who isn't a top level jp player to underestimate the depth of vf.

i mean, how good do you really think you are at vf? seriously, i don't think 99% of the current posters on vfdc could hold a candle to the likes of homestay, chibita, etc. and even though i admittedly haven't seen you play, i don't think you're in that 1% who can hang, because if you were, i would've seen you play by now.

not that it matters much, since vf is getting closer to being deader than dead outside of japan with each passing day 5r isn't out, but for what it's worth, i think you're poorly misguided and although i won't say ufc is a depthless game (haven't played it), i seriously doubt for many reasons that it can even be comapred to vf.

that, or you've just one hit too many off the bong.

 

Im just saying yo... I could get my ass beat in VF, and UFC too. I wasn't saying I'm god-like at VF

The variables/options/decisions are in both games, its just no one wants to learn the ones in UFC. You can't blame the developers for that

That might be the case for UFC or whatever but randomness does not always mean mindless mashing and inputs. Look at ST, you have random damage, dizzy, input windows, and other extremely random instances (like if two Zangief's SPD each other the outcome is random). None of them lead to heavy mashing once you achieve mid-level play.

The only mashing in ST is usually calculated anyways, like T.Hawk or Dictator mashing jabs to beat torpdedo, ball, headbutt. Or Honda mashing hands while holding down+back to option select ochio. I don't think people say "ok dizzies are random in ST...so LET'S MASH!!!"

That being said this topic is awesome. 30 pages and no announcement!! I still post VF5R videos on Sega's facebook.

First location for VF5 started 26th of November 2005, if my maths is working that's 3 years and 9 months ago (I rounded it up to nine months)...

You made me smile with that one. I think I'll be crushed if it's not anything special but then again one has to keep expectations low if you don't want to be dissapointed.

 

at this point sega could announce that they're gonna shit on a plate and throw it at yu suzuki's face and i'd be pleasantly surprised
