As I wait for the last couple of hours to while away (3hrs 25 mins), I decided to see if Sega’s vf5 (visit product page) on the US or UK website had changed at all. The UK is how I remember it, without the latest white with sky blues and greens Sega logo. However now there is no vf5 video running on that page from the US site (or at least it isn’t when viewed from the UK) and in the place of the flash video is the latest Sega logo. Do we think this is because in 3hrs there will be a new VF5 product video? Or is this just the classic case of global look and feel websites with a few inconsistencies?

Strange, I checked the source code now and it actually says "Phantasy Star" all over the place, no Super Monkey Ball references at all.

No, there is no media tab to click on, only a screenshots one when I use the US site, must be either a website restriction or an ISP issue. I thought it might be IE8 incompatibility.

As for the www.virtuafighter.jp announcement, I think the anniversary love is actually just five new downloads.

Here is the link through google’s language bar www.virtuafighter.jp/downloads The creation/modified dates on the thumbnails are 21/07/2009, so I imagine they are new.

Only twenty minutes until the new game is revealed on the Jackpot.

If it's VF5R I'll immediately light up the Cuban cigar that I bought for my boss as a gift.

Sorry, didn’t realise. Well at least that helps undermine my pessimism slightly about a good announcement from Sega today (in 13minutes).

Does anyone here still own a Wii? I pawned mine for near what I paid; about 9months ago to avoid getting left with a worthless white brick after next year’s E3.
I did like the original monkeyball on the cube, but this announcement is just balls, no monkey insight at all.

My thoughts are, that motion sensing controls damage more games than they enhance. Uncharted was damaged a little, Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy were damaged a lot, and Mario Kart for the Wii, was only suitable for sitting in the box by comparison to the awesome Double Dash predecessor. Banana blitz was largely a let down, considering only 3 of 30(iirc) mini games were any good.

Yes Wii Sports was fun for 6months, but don’t release a new console for one game. They should have used the cube’s expansion slot instead, because I saw very little on Wii that I hadn’t preferred on the Cube and now company’s are wasting development effort making short lived rubbish, what a waste.
