Please, for the love of Pete, someone edit the title of the thread to read "Stun Palm o'Doom", as it should be.

The answer is "YES" you do roll from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. The computer will let you get away with it EVERY time. More than that, you dont have TIME to go back to neutral before you input 6p. Going back to neutral is why I failed alot at the third part of SPOD ,or the B M I (goh). Mean you Can do the last palm strike by going to neutral, but AS IVE done it ONLY if youinput the,3 P+G with MAXIMUM SPEED INPUT, ie only moving the stick to HALFway toward its threshhold (just barely clicking the stick's microswitches). Doing it thatway makes it harder to confirm by feelthat you did the Also, if you do the 3 P+G to quickly you cant use tactile sense to confirm you got the diagonal and did it right to go to 6P. I do the last part of 3P+k just long enough to confirm Ive got the angle, then roll to 6P. P+G right. Its better to make ABSOLUTELY sure by holding P+G as long as you would 3K for a sidekick(about six frames or a little more) ,then ROLL to 6P. Youll get it way more frequently that way.

I got some good advice several days ago. As you said siimply rolling to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif for the third move is the easiest way. Thanks for the added advice. Now It's just simply muscle memory, and learning to pull it off during the right moment during a fight. Feels much better doing it in between a flurry of moves rather than a standing opponent in Vs. mode. Sorta like teaball vs. a real pitcher.

    Done.

    Here's some hilarity...

I'm talking to Catherine about the "o' Doom" name. I say I never knew that. She says "Oh, c'mon - even I knew that." She's the one that got the VF3 info online for me back in 1996.

I can confirm that you can roll the joystick to do the final double palm.

Whoa, you CAN just roll the stick after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif.

That makes it totally easier. I used to always let the stick go back to neutral. I was good from the left, bad from the right. SPoD and DLC were the main reasons I played Akira in the past and since the nerfed them relative to the other stuff, I played Akira less. This new way of doing it almost makes it too easy.

Ha ha. UGH. I wish someone would have told me that 10,000 practiced SPoDs ago.

If you enter the SpoD commands really quick does it make the first hit of the Stun Palm come hit a couple frames faster? Or does the first hit always come out and hit at the same frame rate no matter how fast you do it.. It seems like it does or maybe it just does the next two hits faster.

First hit will always be the same regardless of how you input it. Some moves do gain an extra frame in execution though. Example would be Jacky's 9K. But if you do 9K+G instead, you'll get the same move but one less frame of execution.

I've always wondered about this, it looks like the second two moves can come out quicker by inputting the SPoD quicker by watching it but it's too small of a difference for the eyes to tell or some shit.

I asked KoD if there's anyways to test it but I think he must have forgot about it.

Yea I hear ya man, I wanna believe it does lol, but like you say, the eyes can't tell. That'd be a wicked thing to try and figure out so we'd know if it's worth doing/trying. Maybe if I recorded some of both fast and normal SpoD's and try to use the frame data to see, throw the vid in the windows moviemaker and slow it to a crawl to see how many frames it takes for him to start the second move one day. But I still don't think me personally would be able to figure it out.

I think it's the same speed more or less, but I've seen someone do it slower than usual to me before, and it could be because it was lagging why it seemed slower.

Check out these 3 videos of matches I've had online.
In all 3 of them it looks like the same speed.

Did it at the end of the round in this video.

Did SPOD two times in the match, on the 1st and 2nd round.
    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zqylgLm1byo"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zqylgLm1byo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

And same as the first video, did a SPOD on the last round.

They don't look different in speed to me, maybe cause I do it at the same speed input each time, every time?

Yea, i'm leaning towards it doesn't matter how fast it's done cause ya think that kind of info would've been leaked and mentioned around here...Nice fighting there too Zerox

SPoD is slow and not very practical. Also, if the initial stun palm does not hit or if it gets guarded, the rest of the sequence will not work.

If /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif does not hit or is blocked, you will not be able to do the rest of the sequence (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif).

Yes of course because it's not like a hit throw. There a lot of moves like that such as Goh's Basara thingy. Just need to set it up. That damn Feaucha's got the SPoD down pat.

I know this doesn't realy matter but the second two hits definitely connect faster the faster you input them. I was messing around inputting it all as fast as I can and then as slow as it would allow and you can clearly see the difference in the speed of the last two hits.
