these are only some of the new releases, and one thing i didn't mention-these are all pretty much EXCLUSIVES with the possible exception (gt3 which can also be bought for xbox but came on ps2 like a million years earlier /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)! if i were to name multi-platform i could go on for hours /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

 

Ah yes you completely missed my point, it was said that XBox and GC lacked good games, I provided a short list off good games.
And its typical that you list a bunch of mass market drivel most of wich wouldnt even exist if it werent for BETTER games made by companies like Sega and Nintendo, especialy considering you didnt even list one of the best games of the last few years, one made by SCEJ no less.

Hey now, Fishie, no need to start shootin below the belt. Yeah, it was me that said they lacked MANY good games. You do have a good list there though, but that's only like a half dozen or so. The reason I said something about XBox and GC not having much is this:

When I go to the games store, first section I check out is the Gamecube section. There's RARELY anything I'm interested in there. Like, to the point where I only own 3 or 4 games for the system. Next, I head to the PS2 section. There's usually a half-dozen games that look interesting to me, but since I'm not made of cash I don't buy em all. There is stuff that interests me though, and that's the point I'm makin.

Now I walk up to the Xbox wall even though I dont have one, and check em out too. There are a couple of games (Besides Halo and PGR) that look interesting to me there too, usually. This wasn't the case a while ago; I'd just skip the XBox stuff 6 months ago.

I like Racing, Fighting, RPG, Shootemups, and Flying games. That pretty much covers all the bases, and I still find more stuff on the PS2 than anywhere else.

That's why I say what I say. Because there are more exclusive games on the PS2 that interest me than either of the alternatives.

 

What's the point of talking about what system has good games or not? The important thing to consider if whether or not the system is capable of reproducing a good port of VF. I for one was disappointed at evo coming out for ps2. The gfx sucks compares to the arcade, and if it was on the xbox, they might have been able to make the load times faster without sacrificing the old save system. Who knows, they might even have been able to implement some online features. (Online ranking, new items, replay file transfer, etc.) I wish sega wasn't so caught up with maximizing profit and instead be true to the real fans out there.

For the record, I play my ps2 at a ratio of about 500:1 compared to the xbox. So any lame attempt at labeling me as ps2 or xbox fanboy is pointless.

 

i like PS2 for its wide variety of really good games and i hate it for its wide variety of really bad games that waste great amounts of shelfspace, i like Xbox for its graphics and i hate it for its controllers and not a lot (its enough though) of good games (and its microsoft =P), and i like GC... for zelda and metroid prime ?? (ya, thats about it for GC... wat i really like from nintendo is GBA SP).

in the end, i prefer the PS2

 

It's a business Srider, you can only ''be true to the real fans'' for so long. I want to see Shenmue 3, 4, 5... but if the game doesn't sell ! Shenmue was an Xbox exclusive and that didn't help them much. You go where the money's at man.

 

Yeah I already know this. This is why I'm trying to make the point that it's pointless to talk about what system it'll go to. Since in the end it'll just go to whatever would make the money. I've already talked about this in one of the other threads. This is why I have a dislike in general of casual gamers... since they are the reason that... nm.....

Let's have it come out for the GBA! I mean, that's certainly what *I* play the most, and it's got SO MANY SYSTEMS SOLD! It'll be like a license to print money for Sega!

 

VF5 should be released exclusively for the Atari 2600.

 

then again releasing it on xbox which hasnt even sold 500,000 units in japan and the only games to break 100,000 copies sold is DOA and DOA BV. Seems more like the DOABOX.

As funny as it may sound.... making GBA games is like a license to print money....

 

Definitly not, margins are almost non existent for most third parties and stock managment is insanely hard as you have to know months in advance how many units you want to have burned on roms, wich is a costly affair and locks up money that could be used for other things.

Its why few big original games get released for the system and the ones that do make it are ussualy in some way sponsored by Nintendo.

This is NOT meant to be a which system you like better, it was which would bring the best port, period.
Oh yeah, even though its a distant 2nd, xbox, world wide, is still selling great, something like 9 million to sonys 30 million. I hope no one doubts MS ability to shove money to support a product....I just want the best vf possible, since that is 90% of what I use my ps2 for.

 

uuumm this thread was more interesting when everyone was talking about the rumors revolving around evo 2 or vf5.
fuck this Xbox > GC > PS2 shit.... we all know these systems kick ass in their own special way. Worry about the system when it's announce for now, please MORE RUMORS damn it.
