2:25 P,b+K has crouch stagger again.

 

That video also displayed the power of 8k stagger vs low rising. Either he didn't shake properly or the shake has a longer window. The combo netted 87 pts vs 1 low rising, thankyou am2. Also, flamingo sabaki seems to have the old k+g launch, but you don't have to kick first(netted 60 something). She is shaping up to be a worthy opponent.

Good things come to sarah's that wait.

A thing I noticed in that last vid was that the FL reversal reversed a 2p and the stagger was much shorter than the other reversal in the other vid of the Akira's low kick.

Jack comes back with an 84 pt combo of his own after Sarah's 87 pt combo... err...

u+K is under used in VF5O IMO.

The Sarah did a side throw -> pounce. Is pounce guaranteed now?

 

Goh & Vanessa's low punch inashi's give +frames depending on how early you inashi the opponent's attack, maybe Sarah's works the same way /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

 

You don't get staggered after FL low reversal. Although I'm sure dragon cannon has always been free. For some reason it's not the VF5 command list. It's in the VF4 one. +35 to +54 frames

 

You could say that opponent does get staggered after FL reversal, the stagger just isn't escapable by struggling.

 

Yeah, I haven't seen it miss yet. It's like Sega saying, "we got your back again, Sarah." Cause in vanilla of that side throw a light down attack whiffs on alot of characters so you have to dash in and be fast or they get away.

 

The ground kick after side throw (in VF5O) actually misses if your opponent does nothing i.e. gets up slowly. Dash in and ground kick solves that problem.

At 1:01 after the round is over, the Sarah plaer does Step> bitch slap>uppercut and then goes into what looks like <u>Step again?</u> Or <u>FL into Step?</u>

1st of all I thought that after the double bitchslap out of Step you go into normal stance.
2nd, if you go into Step after bitchslaps that would take away from the combo ability but that wouldn't make sense because
3rd, every time I've seen the Step>bitchslaps connect a 3p,k>combo ender usually ensues. Which brings me back to the 1st question......

WTH is going on at 1:01?

 

From me it looks like she cancels some sort of kick into flamingo after the double slaps. If you slow down you notice her lift her leg. Then she goes Step by pressing P+K+G. I dont know if that cancelled kick is part of the doubleslap combo or not. From the R movelist that I got, there doesnt seem to be any such combo, only (Step) PP.

Its also possible that its a weird animation and the doubleslaps put her into flamingo straight. My movelist gives no indication of this either. Even though I dont read japanese..

Going into step straight would be pointless and unnecessary since she can go there without delay simply pressing P+K+G from Flamingo.

 

I don't completely agree with that last statement. You have to get into FL 1st and last I checked, you couldn't go into FL without doing an attack/fake into FL. Basically, you either have to hit your opponent or trick them into blocking to 1st get into FL.

Going straight into Step gives you the 50/50 without a P+K/4k/4P+K/etc entry and either having those connect or block and hope of no immediate retaliation. Imagine doing a normal PP and then going into Step Gatling or Step PP . Or KP into Step 2kkk. Or 1,4K into Step.

I also have seen the movelist though and that's why this befuddles me. I've never seen anything like that tried in any VF5R match and I don't even know what that could be in the movelist. It does look like that could be a kick cancel into Step. But what could that be? The moves that I know that cencel straight into Step are......

6P4K
K+G
Everything else is after going into FL/cancelling a move that goes into FL.

I really think this could be a potentially big finding if we can go into Step off of seemingly nothing. Whatever is getting cancelled into Step is almost unnoticeable and looks to be after a normal stanced move. PP (on hit) into Step 2kkk. Doesn't that sound pretty hot?

 

Youre right, going into step straight somehow would make sense in order to get her catch throws come out faster.

The only single move that I know of currently that cancels straight into flamingo is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif~/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. But that animation doesnt look the same no matter how fast you can input that (Skatans 'instant-flamingo'). In the mysterious video you linked she merely lifts her lead leg slightly, and then hops into step. The /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif~/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif looks different with her throwing her leg behind her to prepare for the big axe-kick and then going into flamingo instead.

Those moves that you listed are moves that END up in flamingo, they dont cancel to it. (There is also no 1KK, you must think of 1K+GK) Cancelling to flamingo is more like in the string /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif~/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif.

I recently saw another video of a Sarah player doing (step)PP, but there she followed the aircombo with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif which is pretty inconclusive, because afaik you can still do that move both in and out of flamingo in R. I need to keep my eyes out for more Sarah videos.

EDIT: Actually... There is only /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif listed in flamingo in her R movelist, with some text after it. There is no /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif although it might just read that you can followup with her normal stance /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif followups.

What bothers me is that G-cancels into flamingo are not marked clearly in that movelist. I know for a fact that she can G-cancel jackknife's second kick (VF5: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif) into flamingo..can she cancel the first as well?? That might be whats in the video then.

Yeah, cancelling the first kick of jackknife into flamingo would be awesome, as jackknife is a great move by itself. However, since we propably would have seen lot more of that by now, I dont think thats the case in the linked video. So what is it? I think jackknife command was changed in R, is it now /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif?

 

Jack-knife second kick definately cancels to FL df+K,K~G.

FL df+P,K exists. It's the usual "continue with df+P sequence" stuff that reads there.

4K doesn't cancel straight into STEP.

Now that STEP P,P~STEP is interesting.
I've think I've only seen STEP P,P go into normal stance too. But now I'm not sure. It comes out so fast that it definately recovered in FL with instant STEP option..
So, maybe it actually does recover in FL and it's just undocumented in the movelist and we never noticed since the df+P,K was coming anyway?

 

Oh. I guess I don't know what I mean then. I was thinking stuff that went into it with not much of a noticeable switch to FL. Yeah, I'm wrong.

R Sarah users cancel jackknife all the time, it is probably her fastest safe way in now(to flamingo). On most Sarah users channels, there's more than a couple matches where it's done.

Step PP - Step -> PP, is probably a step variation of Sarah's flamingo spiral hell.

Yes, step K is the old step d+K.

 

Can you elaborate a bit? Because I have no idea what spiral hell is, or what you are saying.
