Leo you can't be having that much trouble? , I pulled of some of akira's combo's with no trouble with the good connection matches the timing is only very slightly different.

hey guys... slightly off topic.. but are you guys all playing the game online via a plugged in xbox 360? Or wireless connector xbox 360? Is there a noticeable difference if you were to plug it in the router or if you were to use the wireless connector? Thanks in advance.

    ONLINE:

So far i'm really impressed with the online performance. Tragic (from san fran) and I tested out some guaranteed attacks earlier and got them working flawlessly.
Block jackys 33k (-15) and counter with Shuns kkp (14f startup)
    Block jackys 3pp p+k (-13) and counter with Shuns 4ppk (12f startup)

Fuzzy guard reacting to +5 and +6 situations was working as well but if seemed I had to be a tad faster than offline play. Next thing to test will be 6p vs 2p spam but I couldnt imagine this not working after what we've tested so far.

Still got alot of stuff to mess around with but on a good connection the game seems very playable. On the other hand, I got matched up with someone in australia that used akira but the lag was so bad I couldnt do anything. When Akira does p+k, p+k I usually duck or evade but I couldnt do either against him and just got creamed. :p

    AI:

So far so good here. First thing I did was put it on expert and find some 10th dans to fight against. Surprisingly the AI has improved quite a bit from the PS version. Playing against a brad AI, I 2pd one of his strings and got him but the next time I tried it, he got me with the 2p counter which made me laugh. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    ITEMS:

I've seen a few of the version C items I had but some of my favorites which were available on the arcade online shop arent there. I'm hoping that these are hidden in quest or will be available sometime on XBLM.

Most the people i've been playing against have been quiet as well except one guy was yelling "fucking bullshit" repeatedly while running into my stuff.

The contents of the shop may have changed, but I think all items that were in ver.B are still there. At least I got most of the items I was looking for so far.

I have had some bad matches recently, that's true, but Myke was talking about a few frames throwing him out. You will definitely always get a bear minimum of 2 frame lag, right? Because of basic maximum ping speeds. I'm guessing if certain conditions work with guaranteed hits then maybe they allowed for that with their code, but it definitely changes the speed of things, even when it's good.

I have had some good matches, though /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Suprisingly, my worst ones have been with FreeScotland, and he's only up the road. Must be the pure dead brilliant Irn Bru, ken?

I have to echo the sentiments so far about the online. It's been working pretty damn well for me so far. I didn't think it would be this good.

I'm not exactly sure what AM2 has done with the netcode, but if it can consistently work this way then Virtua Fighter definitely has new life at least for the newer xbox360 players right now.

About 4/5 tries, I get "unable to connect" when joining a game.

Is anyone else getting this? I have the ports that XBL uses open on my router, so I don't think its that.

Otherwise, the online play is great.

Yeah I've gotten that quite a few times myself. Nothing a patch can't fix I'm sure.

My thoughts exactly. I'm able to do my toughest combos, course I've only played with one friend (2 states away). Can't judge for connections as far as east coast, but I'm damn impressed and even more surprised. I've loathed online fighters in the past, from 3S to even Tekken, I think they're all whack. This one? This one is worth my time, at least with local friends and Cali.

I've had the game since Saturday (bought on Friday but played the next day) and I have to say that the online mode is almost flawless. I've had over 200 matches so far and only 2 or 3 had bad lag and only around 10 had minor lag. DOA Ultimate and DOA4 were a bit worse but it was only a minor niggle as online play added so much to the game (maybe the lower boradband speeds of a year ago had something to do with it).

So I think £80 for another copy of the game and a stick to play it on is well worth it. And as a bonus, I get expert AI, commentary and version C additions. Although I have to start again with every character on Quest mode, at least they give us a free 50000G and more Gold to be won.

are you serious that the worst lag you had was with me? yes, our connection wasn't great but it wasn't THAT bad.

maybe the fact you were continually being battered about the ring made it seem worse...lol

Its good to see that the new ai is doing the NEW MOVES finally. I saw the shun ai do the skk stance and use sabaki as well as drink after the round.

I wouldn't call the online "almost flawless" because I'm noticing certain combos not connecting. I couldn't get any of my Brad /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif combos to hit because the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif kept missing, so I had to adjust and use heavy pounce. If you get players within a reasonable distance it should be decent but it's still quite different from the offline game. I think many experienced players will have a tricky time adjusting. I'm just glad it's online for the exposure. Quest mode is really good now too. I recommend expert difficulty.

Lol yeah, I jumped the gun, there's deffinitely bad connections out there, but there's some really good ones I've had with random players too.

I just hope people are turning off their torrents and other internet stuff while they play lol, cause I did have two matches where lag was eating my moves even. Think I'ma mess around with the ranked matches a bit more, then settle down with friends who have good connections, as far as my time online goes.

First off there isn't czy bad lag in the game but there is a lot of buffer input lag. the game does feel slower online than it does offline as a whole. It's the best there is though.

Other than 2 games i played today i really never had terrible lag. I could always punish and fuzzy and do pretty much everything i do offline. Its not offline but its pretty close with a clear connection.
