I can see why Sega opted to call it R rather than Evo, it will eliminate confusion and set it apart from the previous update.
Since there are new fighters I'm sure it will come out on console. The release will probably coincide with that of SC4 and
Tekken 6...ugh...sorry just threw-up a little bit in my mouth. I
gotta stay away from the T-word.

i can live with 2009, since 2008 will be pretty packed with other fighters.

 

Doesn't seem much like a clone to me other than, he/she looks like they're gona hit hard.

oh my days this year will be a blockbuster of new fighting games. Man what a day at AOU. KOF12, Samurai Showdown Sen, SF4 and now this!!!

New character and Taka is back! The new character from that video looks like Tae Kwon do, I mean I've never seen a Karate person pull off that kinda jumping spinning kick and land like that. Looks more Wu-Shu'ish to me. He looks so cool!

Yeah, Taka is definitely back since they've gave us that "Return" gimmick. And I have a feeling that "Rival" refers to the fact that they want to make that emo karate (TKD or whatever) hermaphrodite the rival of Akira. And the graphics DO LOOK improved. I hope that there won't be any problems with porting this to XO...

Anyway, great stuff from SEGA, even though it looks like they started to copy some of Namcock's shittyness...

 

Karate Guy looks like he's supposed to be another assassin type. The no color skin, the gray hair....

i thought it was already confirmed because everyone has been talking about a karate dude...

 

The new karate guy most likely is another weapon of J6. In Goh's story he failed in the last tourney, and was given one last chance. I guess they really don't trust him and sent out this guy to get the job done.
