I think some people are mistkaken. The nyko converter is suppose to convert ps2 stick to play on a ps3. But the pelican one is actually to use your sixaxis controller on the ps2.

Really smart pelican. Instead of buying a cheap ps2 controller I would go ahead and buy a sixaxis and convert it to a ps2 controller. Shees....why don't I just buy a ps3 and play ps2 games on it exclusively and nothing else.

Actually the Pelican one is for using PS2 controllers/sticks on the PS3... one of the people working on it confirmed it works with most PS2 games already and that there is no lag(he's on SRK)...

I've heard we might have to wait as long as May (gasp!) for the Nyko and Pelican converters. Is this true? I don't know if I can wait that long. But then again, I "May" (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif) not have a choice. You now what's really fun(ny)? Having a PS3, VF5, and a 40XBR2; and not being able to play the game (properly); since the converter I bought for my MAS is shite. It's actually quite hilarious!!

Has any body bought any of the recent VF sticks (after the delay)?

just wondering if they fixed the PS2 BC-ability .

I'm on a PS3 Stick boycott until they get fixed to work with PS2 BC games or just wait for the PELICAN adapters

the why it appears, I will just wait for the Pelicans and save my money and have my PS2 sticks saved

I will not keep my PS2 forever and I have no intention of keeping it around for another 6 years when the PS3 is supposed to be BC. I don't want two different sticks for PS2 and PS3 games, I'm Street Fighter and a Virtua Fighter and I want 1 stick for both, not two seperate sticks for separate consoles.

it's just common sense and practicality .

Both the HRAP and the Sega Highgrade are in back order, and I don't think Sega has started redistributing there's.

I think this is probably stating the obvious but has anyone checked the sega japan site for updates on the highgrade availability / recall?

I'd check myself if my japanese language skills weren't less than sub par. I'm assuming that people have checked but just putting it out there as the obvious is sometimes overlooked.

Dude, I re-ordered the stick from Play-Asia even though I don't have the system, the game, or not even thinking of going back to play seriously! But hey you never know when a USB arcade stick might come in handy .

Actually If I do receive the stick I'm willing to play casually while trying not to get "sucked back in" . I wonder how hard that's gonna be since I'm etching to fool around with Lei-Fei for some reason .

 

Shaft Question

I played on an HRAP 3. I liked it. That said, the VSHG has all Sanwa buttons, right? That means it will be nearly immortal, yes?

I therefore lean toward the VSHG, but for one concern:

How is the shaft on the stick for the VSHG? The HRAP 3 has a nice thick shaft, and I ain't gonna lie: I'm down with that. The skinny shafts, like on on the HORI Evo sticks, are lame. I make more mistakes on them.

Has anyone handled both sticks? If so, what can you tell me abuot the shafts? For me the shaft is a deal breaker. It must be thick and sturdy. Whosoever answers my question shall receive my thanks and praise.

Diss, that's more information about "shafts," than we needed to know . Get a MAS! It has a really long and thick shaft for you to play with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Dude, I am not sure what you are trying to imply.

I actually looked at Play Asia at the pics for both sticks and they both seem to be packin in the shaft department. That's got my attention. I think I will order the VSHG.

Those MAS sticks are no good for me. I've graduated to Japanese style sticks. Corners, dude. A man needs a box in which to slide his shaft.

Come to where the flavor is Throwmasta. Rededicate yourself to learning to play with an HRAP3. It is a time for healing. I know the pain that your ps3 and hiDef TV are causing you...

It would drive me insane.
