Wtf with all that abare madness on Xbl?

While I otherwise agree with most stuff with you I have to dig this one out.

I mean, you CAN force nitaku / santaku mix-ups in 5 like in Evo and you CAN use a non-throw clashable move in 5 like you could use any move in Evo. For quite a few characters the non-throw clashable move is a combostarter of some sort, so the option remains.

 

Heh abare madness is an interesting phenomenon cause it has its positive and negative sides.
I really think that abare is a good training 4 people like me to train reversals sabaki etc. Also i like it cause such people usually dont pay attention what the opponent is doing and one can punish em even with kage's 8p+k not talking of max damage combo during stagger recovery. The game also can change to evade training like in quest mode at expert lv.=)). If u wish depending on the wall type fairly easy to decieve em and punish with ringout. And one more almost every hit with them is counter.
But from the other side if lags come out in such game one should do only safe moves its really annoing. Fear in such moment is crucial. Standing defence and no moving is also almost imposibe cause of move randomness. A lot of whiffs from the opponent make the game funny at first but than u r sick and tired of it. Such games tell u that there is some misunderstanding of the game mechanicks from u opponent and it relaxes pff h8 such moments. Throw is an answer but with 2p also boring((.

 

i been told by cozby and others i abare alot,but it feels like most of the time u just don't wanna hold down the guard button and wait for a openning since timing can be different online then off

The best strategy is too be completely ignorant to what abare is.
That way you don't have a problem.

 

Abare is just a style of fighting. Just like turtling and just like moral, it has it's weaknesses.
What's the fastest-growing and most effective martial art right now? MMA.
Why confine yourself to one "style" of fighting when you can use them all?
I dare ANY so-called "moral" player to play moral all the time and not get his ass whooped. I dare any of you guys who claim to play a certain way, win consistently (against a mid-level to higher player) without switching it up.

There is nothing wrong with abare just like there's nothing wrong with moral but abare gives more people more problems than moral. Half/Full circular attacks, catch throws and delayed attacks are all great tools to deal with moral players but to deal with abare, you have to know frames

Come on people, get it together, abare is not not the problem, the problem is you. It's been you all along. If you can't figure out an opponent's abare options (meaning what he usually does at certain disadvantages) then:
A)blame yourself for not being able to read him better and/or
B)give that player his props for mixing up his offensive options so well that you weren't able to read him or figure him out.
Now, I understand that some of you will fight some players (like myself) and know what I am going to do before I do it BUT you can't or don't react well enough to interrupt it or evade it. Well then, you should be working on your reaction time instead of your excuses.

Nothing is abusable in VF (except in medium to heavy lag). Over 90% of the moves in VF leave opponents at disadvantage. If your opponent is beating you out when you have advantage is either because A)you picked the wrong attack to counter with or B)your reaction time (or buffering) is not as fast as his.
During bad lag you have to buffer inputs in advance and that sucks cuz you have to commit more blindly but if you're a better player than your opponent, even in lag, you should be able to stay ahead of him.

Obviously, bad lag (Schakal level bad) doesn't count since even when you're inputting the correct moves, nothing that you actually want is coming out =/

 

I agree with Tfam and I won't say anything too much on this subject or add to it. I see it as a style of play and it has its advantages and disadvantages to it. I won't be as hard on this subject as Tfam said it but he tends to say things as they really are, enough said.
