VF5US is getting an update worldwide on December 8, 2021 (December 7th for North America time zones)! Version 1.30 update includes the new DLC pack, adjustments to the Beta Tournament Event Mode, and the fan requested semi-transparent walls. The exact patch notes from Sega's website are posted below for your convenience.
With Ryu Ga Gotuko (RGG) Studios at the helm for VF5US / VFes it should probably come as no surprise to see this collaboration between two popular franchises, but for the VF series that has seen very minimal reference to other SEGA IP (Sarah as Ulala!), this is kind of a big deal! The December DLC update is packed with great features, including this special collaboration with the Ryu Ga Gotoku (Like a Dragon) / Yakuza. This article contains all the details on character costumes and their stage BGM.
On Sunday 5 December 9 PM Japan time there'll be an all-female team tournament. This special exhibition tournament, organised by @Tetsuko_Yamada, will feature 4 teams consisting of 5 players, facing off in a Round Robin format. Prizes are up for grabs and the event will be streamed so be sure to tune in and show your support!

This is a small patch update to fix an issue within the beta Tournament mode added from patch 1.20.
According to SankeiBiz news article, it was revealed on October 14th and published in an "integrated report" by Sega Sammy Holdings, that the cumulative sales of the Virtua Fighter series is over 18 million units.
At the end of the Challenge Cup, various Virtua Fighter related products--action figure, beer, and more t-shirts--were announced. As for how people outside of Japan can get these, I'm not sure.
Sega's finale to its first Challenge Cup will be streamed on October 10, 2022 2 PM JST (12 AM CST or 6 AM GMT+1). While the qualifiers and playoffs were done online, the two U19 and 16 FREE finalists will compete in an offline environment with no audience (due to the Covid-19 pandemic). The finals will be a single elimination, first to win two games tournament.
From the Tokyo Game Show, Sega announced additional customize items will be available in the game. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
